At the end of Mel Brooks' Broadway musical adaptation of his film classic 'Young Frankenstein,' there's the quick lyrical suggestion that a song and dance version of his 1974 western spoof 'Blazing Saddles' is on the way. Does the 90-year-old comedy legend still have it in the works? Perhaps someone will ask when Mel Brooks takes the stage of Radio City Music Hall on September 1st after a 7:30pm screening of 'Blazing Saddles.'

Fresh off her 2016 MAC Award for best original song after a successful revival of Portraits (1993) for Stephen Hanks' New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits series, Meg Flather paid tribute in Carly & Me to the 'artist who gave [her] her voice.'  Merged Work Productions (Lead Producers) and Jack Thomas (Executive Producer) announced today that music-world icons and television stars Steven Van Zandt and Paul Shaffer, along with Maureen Van Zandt and Joe Grano (Jersey Boys), have joined the Broadway-bound musical Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story as lead producers.  It was also announced that Mr. Van Zandt will serve as the show's musical director.  Piece of My Heart will open on Broadway in 2016.
