Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 65th Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced May 3, 2011 by Tony Award winning actor Matthew Broderick and Tony Award winning actress Anika Noni Rose, at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM.

The New Group will honor Wallace Shawn and Fred Wistow with their 2011 Michael Mendelson Award for Outstanding Commitment to Theater. The gala will take place on May 9 at Capitale, and will include a dinner, rection and auction.

According to published reports, stage and screen star Ethan Hawke and his wife, Ryan, are expecting their second child together. The couple welcomed baby girl Clemintine Jane, to the family in 2008. Hawke also hastwo children, Maya and Levon, with ex-wife Uma Thurman.

Michael Riedel reports in The New York Post today that Frank Langella will return to Broadway next season in MAN AND BOY, a 'long-forgotten but all too-topical play about a corrupt financier.' Langella took part in a staged reading of the show, which is aiming to play at the American Airlines Theatre in the fall.

The Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director; Joey Parnes Interim Executive Director) announced the final Public Forum evening of the season, 'Tony Kushner and Oskar Eustis in Conversation,' on Sunday, March 8 at 8 p.m. In his new play, The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures, Kushner writes movingly about politics and family in America today-plus unions, real estate and love. On Sunday, May 8, Kushner and Eustis will discuss these topics and more, with an introduction by special guest host Cynthia Nixon. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12. The production runs through September 5.
