Born and raised in the rich musical traditions of New Orleans, Stanton Davis Jr. is American Jazz trumpeter whom has performed with the biggest names in Jazz, as well as, the orchestra pits of Broadway.

The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for the Muny's 2015 Season, which opens on June 15 with My Fair Lady. But even this self-professed Grinch has a soft spot so when my favorite children's Christmas tale The Little Drummer Boy comes on, I'm fixed in front of the TV like I was as a young boy and often find myself crying because the message in the story transcends a religious and biblical one; it is a story about the best in humanity. That childlike fascination and sentiment was evoked recently during Teco Theatrical Productions updated and modern version of Langstan Hughes The Black Nativity, produced annually by the company. I have seen many versions of this show, and nearly every one staged by Teco, and I can say with utter confidence this is by far the BEST Nativity I have ever witnessed. It's that good!

Centenary Stage Company and the Young Performer's Workshop returns with their Winter Festival of Shows running December 13th through the 21st, as well as, Spring Registration Interviews on Saturday December 13th and Sunday December 14th. The Winter Festival of Shows will be held in the Little Theatre on the campus of Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. This season's selection offers a variety of musicals perfect for the whole family and includes The Clown, Babes in Arms and 13 The Musical. The Young Performers Workshop (YPW) has been called "The most professional kids troupe around!" by the Star Ledger.

As usual this time of year, the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company is accepting nonperishable items for the Cape May Food Closet. What is needed are canned soups, vegetables, and fruit, boxed pasta, paper towels, shampoo, bar soap, toilet paper, dish soap, and detergent. Any canned food items will be graciously accepted, as long as they have current and future expiration dates.

Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that individual tickets for the Minneapolis premiere of Irving Berlin's White Christmas are on sale now. The stage adaptation of the beloved classic film is coming tonight, Nov. 25-30 to Hennepin Theatre Trust's Orpheum Theatre as part of the 2014-2015 Thrivent Financial Broadway on Hennepin season.
