This month, the legendary Broadway visionary Harold Prince returns to New York City Opera to direct a new production of Leonard Bernstein's Candide.

It all began 53 years ago when Carol Channing opened HELLO, DOLLY! on January 16, 1964, at The St. James Theatre. To celebrate this milestone, Richard Skipper Celebrates the 53rd Anniversary of Hello, Dolly! on January 16, 2017, at 7pm at the Triad on 158 West 72nd Street in NYC.

'Fly' is the soaring tale of the first African American Army Air Corps known as the Tuskegee Airmen. In 1964, HELLO DOLLY opened on Broadway, starring a relatively unknown, 43-year-old Carol Channing as the lead. Reviving the show in 1978, 1981, and 1995, Channing's personality is almost synonymous with the title character. With the demanding role requiring someone with a true star quality, many celebrities have tackled the bold character (including Ginger Rogers, Pearl Bailey, Phyllis Diller, Ethel Merman…and, of course, Barbara Streisand). It is no surprise that Arlington Player's has gambled on a local small-town-star as the headliner in their current production.

The Muny announced today the complete cast for its production of Alan Jay Lerner (book & lyrics) and Frederick Loewe's (music) classic My Fair Lady. The production will be directed by Marc Bruni, choreographed by Chris Bailey and music directed by Ben Whiteley.
