The Museum of the Moving Image's popular series See It Big! will turn its focus to the movie musical with a fourteen-film celebration of the genre, from today, January 24 through February 28, 2014. Musicals are, by their very nature, filled with spectacle. They are heightened forms of storytelling, in which the narrative is amplified by song and dance, where characters express their innermost feelings in the most extravagant ways imaginable. It is a genre that celebrates excess and stylization, and the best examples of the form can only be truly enjoyed... big!

When two people see art do they see the same thing? No, definitely not. Lynn Stein and I enjoyed a day in NYC at the Guggenheim, the MET and the Park Avenue Armory. What did we see and how did we experience the same exhibits?

According to the Hollywood Reporter, actress and singer Gwyneth Paltrow is in talks to collaborate with producers Donovan Leitch and Rick Ferrari on a theatrical production based on The Go-Go's, the all-female rock band whose early 80s hits include 'We Got the Beat' and 'Vacation.'

Season Eight introduces viewers to 13 new stars including the youngest competitor to date, an NFL legend, a computer icon, a female rapper, three music artists, and a Wildboy. Additionally press notes state, love is a battlefield, when for the first time three real life couples take the ballroom floor. Husband and wife, Ty Murray and Jewel, compete for bragging rights while newly engaged professional dancers, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff, go head-to-head. To top it off, country crooner, Chuck Wicks teams with girlfriend and two-time Dancing with the Stars champ, Julianne Hough.
