What happens when a new musical opens at the prestigious Pasadena Playhouse in California and becomes the highest grossing show ever at that venue? Obviously, it is grabbed up by a Broadway producer who opens it on the Great White Way. Right? Wrong!

From June 9 - 19, 2016, Houston Ballet will conclude its 2015-16 season with the world premiere of artistic director Stanton Welch's Giselle. The world premiere of Giselle is made possible through the generosity of longtime Houston Ballet supporter and trustee Lynn Wyatt. This production will showcase the company's strength and depth of talent, while staying true to the original story of love, betrayal, and redemption, set in the Romantic era. The ballet is set to the famous score by Adolphe Adam and designed by renowned Italian designer Roberta Guidi di Bagno, who will create the scenery and costumes for the production.

After winning Game 5 by a score of 4-2, the San Jose Sharks will try to fight off elimination yet again as they host the Pittsburgh Penguins at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, in Game 6 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final. Pittsburgh leads the series 3-2 and can win their first Stanley Cup since 2009 with a win in San Jose.

Studies have shown that there are more men and women who are 30 years of age or older who have never been married and have yet to raise any children in today's society than there have ever been at any point in this nation's history. What has led to the drastic decline in marriage proposals among dating singles today? There are a number of factors that both psychologists and sociologists feel have contributed to this trend, but one book author and professional dating coach asserts that most single heterosexual men in today's society are simply not interested in entering into long-term monogamous romantic relationships with women and/or strictly monogamous marriages any longer. 'Both men and women do not trust each other any longer,' said Currie, who has been a professional dating coach for men since 2006 and a BDSM and Polyamory lifestyle advisor and consultant for women and couples since 2010. 'Women feel that most men cheat too much, and now men feel the exact same way about most of the women in society. Men want a woman who is going to be fiercely loyal to him as a wife, and the reality is, most men do not feel like women of this nature even exist anymore,' added Currie, whose most popular book is titled 'Mode One: Let the Women Know What You're REALLY Thinking.' Currie states in his new book that members of both genders suffer from the problem of wanting to 'have their cake and eat it too.' Currie believes many men want a woman who they perceive as a prudish and monogamy-oriented 'good girl' type as their long-term girlfriend or wife, but they want another woman who is kinkier and more promiscuous and/or polyamorous as their mistress or 'on-the-side lover.' Similarly, Currie believes that many women want to marry a friendly, accommodating, and financially generous 'Beta male' type, but they also want a kinky, erotically dominant, sexually satisfying 'Alpha male' type as a discreet lover behind their husband's back. 'Many men do not want to have to choose between the 'good girl' or the 'harlot' ... they would prefer to have one of each in their life. Same with women. Women do not want to be forced to choose between the affable and financially generous 'nice guy' or the kinky and erotically dominant 'bad boy' ... they would much prefer to have one of each in their life. That is just the reality of dating and relationships in today's society,' added Currie, who was born and raised in Gary, Indiana and is an alumnus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. This production marks the return of French writer and director Garutti to the Print Room, after his 2014 production of Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground, starring Harry Lloyd.

Directed by A. Nora Long, the production also features music director Allyssa Jones and choreographer Yo-El Cassell. MR. BURNS runs through May 7, 2016, with the official opening slated for April 10.

Should you ask Bryce McDonald to point out the year of his life in which it was changed - irrevocably, but most certainly, for the better - chances are he would have difficulty in pinning down the most significant time in his life. He might select 1984, the year he first attended a show at Cumberland County Playhouse (it was Annie), or 1996 when he first stepped onto the CCP stage as a young man (in Oliver!) or it might be 1999, when he first began to train as a stage manager at the iconic Crossville theater (again, it was Annie) that has become 'home' for countless theater artists over the years.

MADAMA BUTTERFLY was never my favorite Puccini until the current production conceived by Anthony Minghella. Before, Butterfly always seemed too submissive, Pinkerton too brutish and their child, well, too cute. Now—particularly with the current cast, headed by the magnificent Kristine Opolais as the young geisha and the dashing Roberto Alagna as the clueless Pinkerton, her American husband--seemed to put my past reservations to rest. The result was a magnificent performance, from beginning to end.

HEATHERS THE MUSICAL is making its South Jersey Professional Theatrical debut at the Eagle Theatre this March.

Fallen Angel Theatre Company (Aedin Moloney, Producing Artistic Director) today announced their next production: the Off-Broadway Premiere of Sharman Macdonald's When I Was A Girl I Used To Scream and Shout, a bittersweet and bitingly funny examination of mother/daughter turmoil.
