The new West End cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child began performances at the Palace Theatre in London's West End on 23 May 2018. Jamie Ballard plays Harry Potter, Susie Trayling plays Ginny Potter and Joe-Idris Roberts plays their son Albus Potter. Thomas Aldridge plays Ron Weasley with Nicola Alexis as Hermione Granger and Helen Aluko as their daughter Rose Granger Weasley. Playing Draco Malfoy is James Howard with Jonathan Case as his son Scorpius Malfoy.

The winners were announced this evening at the Prince of Wales Theatre for the 17th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards, presented by Simon Lipkin and Vikki Stone, celebrating the best of the UK's theatre over the past year, as voted for by the audience.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Cirque du Soleil's PARAMOUR will be vacating Broadway's Lyric Theatre for renovations commencing in May 2017, and rumor has it that producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, with J.K. Rowling have been in exclusive talks to bring HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD to fill the vacancy.
Now according to an Equity casting notice, auditions are about to commence for the Broadway transfer, which will reportedly arrive in Winter 2018.

The Hospital Club is auctioning two tickets to HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD Parts One and Two at the Palace Theatre in London's West End. Between the shows the winner will experience a dinner at the restaurant in private members' club The Hospital Club, where they will also be given an overnight stay in a premier suite and take home a copy of the special rehearsal edition script book signed by J.K. Rowling.

Although the first installment in the FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM series hasn't yet reached wide release in theaters, thanks to the success of HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD on the West End, fans are already speculating about a possible stage adaptation of the HARRY POTTER spin-off. At a recent press conference for the film, FANTASTIC BEASTS screenplay writer and HARRY POTTER creator, J.K Rowling, dispelled the rumors of a stage adaptation, stating, 'There are no plans to put Fantastic Beasts onstage. Let us do the movies, OK, first!'
