Ford's Theatre Society announced full casting and design team for the musical Ragtime directed by Peter Flynn, choreographed by Michael Bobbitt and with Music Direction by Christopher Youstra. Ragtime plays March 10 to May 20, 2017, at historic Ford's Theatre.

The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Interim Executive Director; David McCoy, Chairman of the Board), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, as part of its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present the staged readings of two new musicals:  Dutch Master, with music and lyrics by Jeffrey Stock (Triumph of Love), and book by Marc Acito (Allegiance), and The White Witch of Rosehall, with music by Balint Varga (Houdini the Musical), and book and lyrics by Bryan D. Leys (Hell's Belles) at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). 

Plenty of spotlight-seekers would disagree with Emily Dickinson about the dreary nature of fame, including real-life British magician Adelaide Herrmann and a fictional hippo named Veronica. But there's one talented bear pianist who discovers his friends are 'the most important audience of all.'

Join The House Theatre of Chicago for a fun and informative conversation before the 8 p.m. performance of Diamond Dogs, this Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Chopin Upstairs Theatre, 1543 W. Division St. Special guest Alastair Reynolds, UK-based novelist and author of Diamond Dogs, will be joined by adaptor Steve Pickering of the Chicago collective Shanghai Low and Artistic Director of The House Nathan Allen. Hear from Reynolds about his inspirations for creating his 'Revelation Space Universe' where Diamond Dogs is set, and from our Chicago-based artists about shaping this world premiere adaptation. Plus, the Company will surely get Reynolds to talk about his background as an astrophysicist with the European Space Agency - an opportunity not to be missed.  Admission for this one-night-only conversation is free.
