BRIC Presents 'Alchemy,' An Exhibition Of Seven Artists' Work On Material Transformations

BRIC presents Alchemy, its major summer 2018 exhibition, featuring the work of seven artists reconceiving non-conventional materials in a reflection on the ancient concept of alchemy-the transformation of matter (June 28 - August 12). Employing diverse media, these artists create visually layered statements about the body, gender, race, and the environment. Their work, which includes large-scale installations and work commissioned by BRIC, also manifests the potential for the spiritual to be drawn out from the quotidian world around us. (more...)

Steady Holiday Signs to Barsuk Records, Playing Upstream Music Festival

Barsuk Records is excited to announce they've signed Steady Holiday, the Los Angeles-based indie pop project of Dre Babinski. Steady Holiday's music has been praised as 'both fresh and new and like it's been around for a hundred years, a standard from a different world' (Stereogum) and 'bubbl[ing] with tension like a psychological thriller' (The Fader). Babinski has played festivals like Coachella and shared stages with Mitski and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Barsuk will be releasing her second record later this summer -- stay tuned for more details. Jesse Dayton Releases New Protest Song + New Album THE OUTSIDER Out 6/8

Guitar slinger Jesse Dayton has released his new protest song “Charlottesville” via Rolling Stone Country today. The track was written in the wake of the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, VA in August 2017 that tragically saw counter-protestors injured and killed.  The track appears on his forthcoming album The Outsider, out June 8, 2018 on Blue Elan Records. THE LADIES FOURSOME Comes to B Street Theatre

The Ladies Foursome was based upon an earlier play by Foster entitled The Foursome, in which four men who are old buddies from college, play 18 holes of golf. Foster shifted the story to feature four women instead of four men, and changed the plot in specific ways to fit his new cast of characters. Ladies Foursome premiered at the Morrisburg Theatre in Montreal, Canada in July of 2014. The show received glowing reviews with many critics claiming that this new Foursome was better than the first. Soon after, the play received an American premiere at the B Street Theatre, and since then has been produced at the Bay Theatre in Baltimore, Theatre Baddeck in Cape Brenton Island, and the Toowoomba Theatre in Canada. Entertainment One Will Bring Stan Original Series THE OTHER GUY to U.S. via Hulu

Jesse Dayton Announces New Album Out 6/8, Shares Track & Tour Dates

Guitar slinger Jesse Dayton has announced the release of this forthcoming album The Outsider, out June 8, 2018 on Blue Elan Records. In anticipation of the release, he has shared the first single “Hurtin' Behind Pine Curtain” via Guitar World. Jesse Dayton's career reads like a who's who of American music, having recorded guitars on records and film with Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush, Glen Campbell and more. He has toured the world with punk legends X, filling for guitarist Billy Zoom on a 40-city U.S. tour. Rob Zombie asked him to write and record a soundtrack for his film 'The Devils Rejects,' which then lead to co-writing songs for Rob's follow up franchise film, 'Halloween 2' (which Dayton appears in playing the part of character 'Captain Clegg'). Last night, Live Source Theatre Group (Tyler Mercer, Co-Founder & Executive Artistic Director; Chris Dieman, Co-Founder & Artist in Residence) held its annualSpring Gala, honoring designers Reid Bartelme and Harriet Jung for their outstanding contribution to costume design.  Bartelme and Jung, co-founders of the costume and fashion design company Reid & Harriet, have designed costumes for Justin Peck, Pontus Lidberg, Marcelo Gomes, Pam Tanowitz, Emery Lecrone, Kyle Abraham, Mauro Bigonzetti, and Doug Varone. They have costumed productions at American Ballet Theater, New York City Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet.
