Weathervane Productions and Rising Phoenix Repertory are pleased to present the world premiere of SELKIE, or When I Look at the Ocean, I Feel Like I Belong, a new play inspired by Selkie mythology, written by Sarah Shaefer.

The wildly popular musical, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder will be at The Memphis Orpheum February 9 - 14th. This daring, dark comedy hails from Roy Horniman's 1907 novel, Israel Rank: The Autobiography of a Criminal, told through the eyes of a man who bumps off the aristocrats standing in the way of his title. In 1949, the book was loosely adapted into the movie, 'Kind Hearts and Coronets' which starred Dennis Price, Joan Greenwood, Valerie Hobson, and Alec Guinness. In 2014, Robert Freedman and Steven Lutvak set the story to music. It has been nabbing awards and slaying audiences ever since.

FOX has renewed the Emmy Award-winning SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (SYTYCD) for a 13th season that will feature a younger generation of dancers.

To share an outstanding production of the 2013 Hamlet Marathon in Milan, Italy with a wider audience, First Maria LLC will present Shakespeare's 'Hamlet,' directed by Celeste Moratti and performed by a mixed American-Italian company, March 4 to 20, 2016 at Teatro Circulo, 64 East 4th Street, Manhattan. The production trims politics out of the plot in order to emphasize each character's role as either a child or a parent, highlighting mistakes of mothers and fathers and the conflicts in children between filial duty and the emergence of conscience. The performance is entirely in English.

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has announced 10 Finalists for its prestigious playwriting award, the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights.

New Light Theater Project (recently represented in New York with their acclaimed production of In The Soundless Awe) will present the New York City Premiere of Jared Reinmuth's MONTE CRISTO, an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' 1844 classic adventure novel The Count of Monte Cristo. The production will be directed by award-winner Cailin Heffernan. Previews begin January 22 at Urban Stages with opening slated for January 28.

Confirming earlier rumors that NERDS THE MUSICAL will finally be heading to the Great White Way, BroadwayWorld has confirmed the show will premiere at the Longacre Theatre this spring.

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center and AEG Live announced today that tickets for the three-time Grammy award-winning blues musician Keb' Mo' will go on sale Friday, January 15 at 10 a.m.  Keb' Mo' will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Majestic Theatre in downtown Dallas.

Cutting Ball Theater continues its 17th season with the World Premiere of ONDINE by Katharine Sherman. Happy Birthday, Ralph Fiennes! Fiennes' 2006 performance in the play Faith Healer gained him a nomination for a 2007 Tony Award. In 2008, Fiennes worked with frequent collaborator director Jonathan Kent to play the title role in Sophocles's Oedipus the King at The National Theatre in London. He has appeared in films such as The English Patient, In Bruges, The Constant Gardener, Strange Days and Maid in Manhattan. He is also well known for his portrayals of three infamous villains: Nazi war criminal Amon Goth in Schindler's List, serial killer Francis Dolarhyde in the 2002 film Red Dragon, and Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter film series. Most recently, he appeared in The Reader (2008), The Hurt Locker (2009) and as Hades in Clash of the Titans (2010).

One of Australia's most versatile and acclaimed actors, Carol Burns has passed away, aged 68, after a short battle with cancer. Her partner of 36 years, composer and musician, Alan Lawrence was at her bedside as she passed at Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Can YOU feel a brand new day? We're gearing up to ease on down the road with powerhouse newcomer Shanice Williams and the rest of the gang from Oz, when THE WIZ LIVE! premieres Thursday, December 3, at 8pm on NBC.  Of course, as was the case in 2013's THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE! and last year's PETER PAN LIVE!, the cast is certainly not short on big-name talent — and most come with Broadway or theatrical credits, no less. As if you didn't already know, be sure to look out for Queen Latifah (of 2002's CHICAGO and 2007's HAIRSPRAY), Elijah Kelley (also of 2007's HAIRSPRAY), Uzo Aduba (of CORAM BOY and 2011's GODSPELL), and David Alan Grier (2012's PORGY AND BESS).
