Momma Rose is almost ready to storm the stage, and Gypsy is already extended by popular demand! Virginia's Signature Theatre is happy to announce that the show will play for an added sixth week - an addition of eight performances between January 21 and January 26.

The 25th anniversary celebration of GYPSY OF THE YEAR, the culmination of six weeks of extraordinary fundraising by 56 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway, and national touring companies, raised an amazing $4,343,234 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The grand total was announced Tuesday, December 10, at this year's GYPSY OF THE YEAR, which included an array of original dances, songs, and skits performed by more than 250 'gypsies,' the most talented singers and dancers in the ensembles of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Signature Theatre presents two limited-run shows that bring the spirit of the holidays to the stage for family, friends, and music lovers of all ages. The fun begins this week with composer and Signature favorite Matt Conner (Crossing, The Hollow, Nevermore), who will warm up the intimate ARK Theatre with his new show A Matt Conner Christmas.

The 25th anniversary edition of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS' Gypsy of the Year Competition will be presented Monday, December 9 (4:30 PM) and Tuesday, December 10 (2 PM) at the Minskoff Theatre (1515 Broadway). The show will feature performances by New York's best actors, singers, dancers, and musicians with several guest appearances, including Tyne Daly, Cherry Jones, Ian McKellen, Mark Rylance, and Patrick Stewart.

Gotham Chamber Opera presents Marc-Antoine Charpentier's La descente d'Orphée aux enfers, a co-production with Trinity Church, from January 1- January 5, 2014 at St. Paul's Chapel, Broadway and Fulton, NYC. The Old Globe today announced that San Diego musical artists The Midnight Pine and Stevie Harris have joined the lineup for the Globe's one-night-only Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert on Monday, Aug. 19 at 7:00 p.m. The concert, which features several prominent local artists covering the songs of the legendary musician, coincides with the Globe's upcoming production of The Last Goodbye, a fusion of Buckley's music with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
