Actress Tyne Daly returns to the George Street Playhouse stage for a one-night-only event tonight, February 25. The event, first in a planned series of 'Conversations with...' will feature the award-winning actress in a one-on-one conversation with GSP Artistic Director David Saint. In addition to conversing with Mr. Saint, Ms. Daly will also take questions from the audience as well. All proceeds of the event will go toward the support of George Street Playhouse's mainstage and educational programming.

Today, we're featuring Patti and Robert LuPone circa 1981. Patti LuPone created the role of Lucia in the new musical Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (music and lyrics by David Yazbek), for which she was nominated for Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards. She is the winner of the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Actress in a Musical and the Drama League Award for Outstanding Performance of the Season for her performance as Rose in the most recent Broadway production of Gypsy.

The Picture Show at Bay Street Theatre, sponsored by Peconic Landing continues with classic films this winter and spring. All films start at 8 pm. Tickets are $7 at the door and include a small box of popcorn. Angela Lansbury, whose career has spanned close to seven decades in film and theatre, is currently gearing up for an Australian tour of DRIVING MISS DAISY opposite James Earl Jones. The tour, which launches in February, will wrap up in June 2013 - but don't expect Lansbury to take too much down time. She tells the Sydney Morning Herald that she'll be back to performing next fall in New York, in a new production of Enid Bagnold's THE CHALK GARDEN.

As BroadwayWorld reported last month, stage and screen legend Angela Lansbury was in talks to join Wes Anderson's THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. Today, IndieWire reports that Lansbury, who will be performing in Australia's DRIVING MISS DAISY opposite James Earl Jones, will no longer be a part of the film; Ralph Fiennes, Bill Murray and Jude Law are all reportedly close to deals.

Michael Attenborough's production of William Shakespeare's King Lear is playing at the Almeida Theatre until 3 November 2012, with press night 11 September. Designs are by Tom Scutt with lighting by Jon Clark and sound and music by Dan Jones. The Almeida's production of King Lear is part of the World Shakespeare Festival. The festival, produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company for London 2012, will showcase the best of the UK and international creative talents, exploring the contemporary relevance of Shakespeare.
