Returning to Cleveland after acclaimed performances in The Color Purple on Broadway and Gone with the Wind in London?s West End, NaTasha Yvette Williams takes the stage in the lead role of The Cleveland Play House production of Mahalia: A Gospel Musical. Since 1997, when she performed in The Play House production of (I Could) Stop On a Dime and Get Ten Cents Change, Williams has also played in several Broadway national tours and performed her gospel music all over the world. Kent Gash, Associate Artistic Director of The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, GA, is directing Williams in this musical tribute to the most celebrated gospel singer of all time. After much anticipation, DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty announced today the members of the inaugural resident acting company of his tenure for the 2009-10 season. Although the acting company is slated for the 09-10 season, the full nine-member company will be seen in DTC's upcoming production of In the Beginning, a dramatic exploration of the book of Genesis, Jan. 21-Feb. 22.

The Menier Chocolate Factory's hit revival of Sunday in the Park with George will transfer to the West End this spring

The nominations have been released for the 2006 Laurence Olivier Awards. The ceremony for this year's awards will take place at the Park Lane Hilton on February, 2006. Leading the pack this year are Billy Elliot with nine nominations, and Guys and Dolls with eight.

Lauren Ambrose, Ben Gazzara, Jonathan Hadary, Zoe Wanamaker and others will headline the Lincoln Center revival of Awake and Sing! on Broadway in spring of 2006

The production will star Josh Strickland as Tarzan, Jenn Gambatese as Jane, Merle Dandridge as Kala, Shuler Hensley as Kerchak, Chester Gregory II as Terk, Timothy Jerome as Professor Porter and Donnie Keshawarz as Clayton. Daniel Manche and Alex Rutherford will alternate in the role of Young Tarzan.

Disney has announced that Tarzan will being previews on March 24, to open on May 10, 2006.
