SARGENT: PORTRAITS OF ARTISTS AND FRIENDS Opens Today at the Met Museum

Opening at The Metropolitan Museum of Art today, June 30, the exhibition Sargent: Portraits of Artists and Friends will bring together about 90 of these distinctive portraits. It will also explore in depth the friendships between Sargent and those who posed for him as well as the significance of these relationships to his life and art.

West End's CATS to Open in Adelaide in March 2016

Following its triumphant season in London's West End, the acclaimed revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber'srecord-breaking musical CATS comes to Australia for a strictly limited season, opening in Sydney on 30 October 2015 then touring to Hobart, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide from 18 March 2016 followed by Perth from 16 April 2016.

Ralph Peer, Advocate for Musicians in Digital Age, Receives Two Lifetime Achivement Awards

Today, June 19th, Ralph Peer, II, Chairman and CEO of peermusic, will become the first publisher to receive awards from the two largest music publishers groups in the US: the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and the Music Publishers Association (MPA). He will be the first person to have received Lifetime Achievement Awards from both of these associations, which coincidentally will be given within days of each other in New York.

The 2014-15 Masterworks season comes to a stunning climax with two monumental works for orchestra-a mighty piano concerto by Brahms and a compelling symphony in which Tchaikovsky faces the dark forces of providence and invites us to celebrate joyous victory with him. Led by guest conductor Thomas Wilkins and featuring guest pianist Anna Vinnitskaya, the program includes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1 and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5.

Today we are talking to a spectacularly accomplished Broadway leading man with a considerable TV and film resume who plays a prominent role in the new Encores! production of John Kander & Fred Ebb's Tony Award-winning musical ZORBA coming up next month, the thoughtful Santino Fontana. Explaining his part in the production as well as the unique demands of a special limited run concert presentation such as ZORBA! is, Fontana also opens up about the rehearsal process for the show and the developing rapport and camaraderie between himself and the starry assortment of fellow cast members involved in the production - including John Turturro, Zoe Wanamaker, Marin Mazzie and more, all directed by Walter Bobbie. Besides the full 411 on ZOBRA, Fontana also sheds considerable light on his many current and upcoming projects, including the recently released FROZEN follow-up short musical film FROZEN FEVER and whether or not he would like to be involved in subsequent FROZEN-related entities.
