The 2014 Season marks a landmark for one of the region's most established and respected theatre organizations. With the opening of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic The Sound of Music today, January 17, 2014, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre will kick off its Platinum Anniversary Season, celebrating 20 years of bringing live, first class entertainment to the stage.

The stunning new production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita will make its Twin Cities premiere January 28-February 2, 2014 at the Orpheum Theatre (910 Hennepin Ave.) in Minneapolis. This version features updated orchestrations, choreography and scenic design offering a more authentic portrait of Argentinean culture and Eva's rise to and fall from power. Muny Executive Producer Mike Isaacson announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for the Muny's 2014 Season, which opens on June 16 with Billy Elliot The Musical. "We're so happy these exciting artists are creating our 2014 season," said Isaacson. "This is a challenging season, one with incredible variety and power. The Daily Mail reports that Robert Lindsay will join Rufus Hound and Katherine Kingsley in DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, directed by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell at the Savoy Theatre. The show begins in the West End on March 10 after runs at the Manchester Opera House (beginning February 12) and the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury (beginning February 26).

Stephen Fry, who is making his Broadway acting debut as Malvolio in the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of TWELFTH NIGHT, will be a guest on 'The Colbert Report' on Thursday, October 24. 'The Colbert Report' airs at 11:30 PM ET on Comedy Central, 10:30 PM Central.

Dallas Theater Center has announced the regional premiere of Clybourne Park, running in rotating rep with A Raisin in the Sun, to launch the theater's 55th season. Clybourne Park will be directed by DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell. Clybourne Park begins with a Pay-What-You-Can performance tonight, October 4 and runs through Sunday, October 27 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

When the fun, family friendly first appeared on the Children's Theatre stage, it was to open the 2012 Season. The production quickly sold out.
