Theatrical Outfit continues its "Season of Compassion" with the awe-inspiring regional premiere of Lauren Gunderson's Silent Sky, which reveals the astonishing personal and professional discoveries awaiting real-life female American astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt (1868-1921).

Look up "Broadway Flop" on Google, and Carrie is bound to be the first title to show up. Though the material still is a bit rough around the edges, Austin Theatre Project's staging of Carrie manages to straddle the show's unintentional line between camp and seriousness while finding a compelling story and interesting characters, brought to life by performers who could easily rival many a Broadway star.

On November 13, Noelle Hannibal, Marc Ducusin, and special guests will perform in Corner of the Sky: The Music of Stephen Schwartz at the Segal Centre Studio.

Austin Theatre Project is thrilled to announce the Central Texas premiere of CARRIE The Musical which will open on October 24, 2014 at the Doughery Arts Center. The classic story by Stephen King takes a look at the problems high school students face while trying to fit in with the "cool crowd" and consequences that bullying can bring about. You already know you're going to love Mamma Mia! now on stage at the Fisher Theatre, through November 10. The wildly popular musical takes the massive worldwide hits from ABBA and weaves them into a compelling story about life, love and dreams.

On December 9, 2013 92Y celebrates songwriting legend Mike Stoller on the occasion of his 80th year with An 80th Birthday Celebration, a one-night-only Lyrics & Lyricists Special Event hosted by Paul Shaffer and directed and written by Randy Johnson (director/writer of A Night with Janis Joplin). Confirmed artists performing expected and unexpected interpretations from Stoller's genre-spanning career in blues, R&B, rock 'n' roll and jazz include legendary vocal group The Coasters, along with artists Karen Akers, Mary Bridget Davies, Corky Hale, Maria Elena Infantino, Sally Kellerman, Bettye LaVette, Melissa Manchester, Billy Stritch, Tommy Tune and Steve Tyrell. Backed by Tyrell's band, the artists perform some of the greatest songs written by Stoller with his longtime lyricist partner Jerry Leiber and others. Leiber will be the subject of a special tribute during the evening. Stoller is planning to be in attendance for the celebration.

Day by day, Godspell gets closer to Concord, NH, now that tickets are on sale for the national tour. The Stephen Schwartz musical will play for one night only on Tuesday, November 5, at 7:30pm.

The Muny announced today principal casting for the third show of its 94th season, Disney's Aladdin (July 5-13), directed by Gary Griffin, and choreographed by Alex Sanchez. Tony® Nominees Robin de Jesus and John Tartaglia star as Aladdin and the Genie, respectively. Joining them will be Jason Graae as Omar, Curtis Holbrook as Iago, Francis Jue as Kassim, Eddie Korbich as Babkak, Samantha Massell as Jasmine, Ken Page as the Sultan, and Thom Sesma as Jafar.
