Virginia's Signature Theatre has announced that resident director Matt Gardiner will be the Theatre's new Associate Artistic Director, working in collaboration with co-founder and Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer.

Virginia's Signature Theatre has announced that resident director Matt Gardiner will be the Theatre's new Associate Artistic Director, working in collaboration with co-founder and Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer. In his new role, Gardiner will have greater responsibility in helping to conceive, develop, and implement the unique artistic vision and focus of Signature and will play a leading role in the day-to-day operations of the company.

Triple-threat Nicolas Dromard seems to be on a roll. Already a burgeoning performer since his days as a toddler in his native Ontario, Canada, the charming actor-singer-dancer is currently wowing audiences across the country playing Bert in the National Tour of MARY POPPINS. The stage version of the beloved Disney film is now in the middle of its four-week extended engagement in Orange County, California at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through August 7. Before arriving in the O.C., Dromard--while literally driving down the coast of California on the 4th of July--chatted for a bit with BroadwayWorld's Michael Lawrence Quintos about his early theater history, his influences, and how he morphed quickly from Chimney Sweep to WICKED's Winkie Prince then back again.

In honor of the fresh, new Off-Broadway revival of RENT currently in previews at New World Stages, today we are taking a look back at the various incarnations of the Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical by Jonathan Larson over the years - from the lighting-in-a-bottle original cast led by relative theatrical newcomers Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin Vega, Taye Diggs, Jesse L. Martin, Idina Menzel and more, all the way up to today and the new New York revival. We also look at the stupendous Blu-ray capture of the final cast of the original Broadway production, in addition to the Chris Columbus film version starring most of the original cast, live performances such as at the 2008 Tony Awards and the 1996 Democratic National Convention, some glimpses of both RENT and RENT REMIXED in the West End and all about the very best documentaries on the show! After all, when it comes to reviewing RENT in all its guises, well, there's no day but today!

A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) opens its 2011-12 season with The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin. The adaptation by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and Obie Award-winning composer Diedre L. Murray, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Ronald K. Brown, begins previews on August 17 and opens for the reviewing press on August 31 at 7pm. Performances are at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge. Tickets for preview performances are currently on sale, remaining tickets for the run go on sale on July 12.

Celebrating 10 years of bringing the hottest acts in music across the country, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is proud to present the 2011 Honda Civic Tour featuring blink-182 and My Chemical Romance. The annual summer concert series is marking its deca-versary by bringing back blink-182, the inaugural artist from the first Honda Civic Tour in 2001, along with My Chemical Romance for a 40-plus date nationwide trek beginning on Friday, August 5. Support acts for the anniversary tour include Manchester Orchestra, Rancid and Matt & Kim.

The Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre completes its 21st season with 'Broadway Duets' - a cabaret performance celebrating some of the greatest duets ever written for the Broadway stage. Presenting classic songs by Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and many more will be four favorites of the Signature stage - Felicia Curry (Les Misérables), James Gardiner ([title of show]), Jake Odmark (Sunset Boulevard), and Bayla Whitten (Chess). Renowned duets from Wicked, Damn Yankees, Godspell, Hairspray, Hello, Dolly!, Aida, among others, will be featured by the talented foursome. Directed by Signature's Resident Director Matthew Gardiner (Side by Side by Sondheim, Art) in the intimacy of the 110-seat ARK Theatre, 'Broadway Duets' will be presented from June 7th through June 11th.

As previously announced, David Auburn (author of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Broadway smash Proof) will direct this world premiere production. Performances of this two-person play begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on June 2, 2011 with an official opening night set for Sunday, June 19, 2011. Robin Wagner, Lewis Brown, et al. Win TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards

Three-time Tony Award-winning scenic designer ROBIN WAGNER and esteemed costume designer LEWIS BROWN are among the 2011 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 8 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Mr. Brown was selected to receive the 2011 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer Robin Wagner will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. Sadly, Mr. Brown passed away in January of 2011. His award will be accepted by his long-time colleague and friend, Albert Wolsky, who was the recipient of the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award
