The evening coincided with the 50th anniversary of Hello Dolly! (January 16, 1964) and was just one week before Carol's 93rd birthday.

Eight video questions will be chosen and screened live on stage when the three-time Tony Award winning actress Carol Channing will be joined by LGBT icon and Tony Nominee Justin Vivian Bond in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes: An Intimate Evening with Carol Channing and Justin Vivian Bond on Monday, January 20, 2014 at The Town Hall (123 West 43rd St, NYC). Howard Hawks, the quintessential Hollywood director known for his mastery of many genres, will be the subject of a complete retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image from today, September 7 through November 10, 2013. The Museum will present 39 features. All of the films will be shown in 35mm-many in stunning restorations-except for Red Line 7000, which will be shown in 16mm.

Masterworks Broadway will release the Encores! cast recording of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The album will be recorded in New York City this week, and will feature "A Little Girl From Little Rock," "Bye Bye Baby," and of course, the classic made famous by Marilyn Monroe, "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend."
