The full cast has just been announced for the international tour of the sensational feel-good musical MAMMA MIA!

Acorn Productions, producer of the ongoing Naked Shakespeare series of free and low-cost Shakepeare performances, announced that the company's Founding Artistic Director Michael Levine will be handing over leadership of the 14 year-old troupe to Sarah Barlow this fall. The transition marks the first time in the ensemble's history that someone other than Levine will be guiding the ongoing series that has included performances in a wide variety of locations, including the old Wine Bar on Wharf Street, Riverbank Park in Westbrook, the Portland Yacht Services Complex, Battery Steele on Peaks Island, the Portland Musuem of Art, Victoria Mansion, and the Dana Warp Mill. In order to celebrate Levine's tenure, Naked Shakespeare has teamed up with the Fore River Brewing Company in South Portland to offer the "Naked Shakesbeer" series on five consecutive Monday nights beginning on July 16th. These performances feature a reunion of past company members, who team up with actors currently in the ensemble to recreate highlights of Naked Shakespeare's first 14 years. These accessible shows feature sonnets, soliloquies and scenes brought to life without sets, lights or costumes in Fore River's cozy tasting room in South Portland. Legendary singer and 2016 Kennedy Center Honoree Mavis Staples will headline a special evening for the 2018 Kennedy Center Spring Gala on Sunday, May 6, 2018, in the Concert Hall. An Evening with Mavis Staples and Special Guests pairs Staples with some of her most notable collaborators: singer-songwriter Neko Case, multi-instrumentalist Bruce Hornsby, and bluegrass-county artist Alison Krauss. Together, they will lead guests through Staples's 60-plus year catalog of genre-defying contributions to American music, including many seminal works that have woven her into the very fabric of gospel, soul, folk pop, R&B, Hip Hop, blues, and rock. The event is chaired by Frances and Craig Lindner.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre presents critical and audience favorite Man of La Mancha by Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion, original production staged by Albert Marre, originally produced by Albert W. Selden and Hal James, and based on Cervantes' Don Quixote. ANW Artistic Director Julia Rodriguez-Elliott directs. La Mancha performs August 16 - September 9, 2018 (Press Opening August 18).

MCC Theater is thrilled to announce four new productions for its 32nd Season in the Theater's new, permanent home. The season includes an exciting mix of world and New York premieres from artists both familiar and new to MCC audiences-each fulfilling MCC's longtime commitment to bold, risk-taking works from the most vital voices working in theater today.

The 2018-2019 season draws on the words of artists from Toronto and around the world, a season of 'giving voice' (Paroles manifestes) echoing the theme of 'outbursts' (Eclats manifestes) from TfT's 50th season. Audiences are invited to discover not only why key artists take position today, but also how. As such, each production is an exploration of "theatre as language", and how messages, arguments and joy are uniquely expressed through theatre.  According to TfT's Artistic Director: 'Each play is an opportunity to discover the Other through their story and how they choose to tell it'.

On Sunday, March 11, Hospicare and Kitchen Theatre Company are pleased to offer a special event: a reception and panel discussion on 'Lesbian Love & Loss over the Lifetime.' The reception will begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by a 4:00 performance of Bright Half Life by Tanya Barfield. The New York Philharmonic announces program updates for its Lunar New Year Concert and Gala, led by Long Yu, on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. The program will feature Andy Akiho's Ricochet, Concerto for Ping Pong, Violin, Percussion, and Orchestra, featuring Philharmonic violinist Elizabeth Zeltser (in her Philharmonic solo debut), ping pong players Ariel Hsing and Michael Landers (Philharmonic debuts), and percussionist David Cossin (Philharmonic debut). As previously announced, the program will also include Li Huanzhi's Spring Festival Overture and Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, with pianist Serena Wang, the Farmers' Chorus of the Yunnan Province, soprano Vanessa Vasquez, tenors Chad Johnson and Issachah Savage, and bass Alex Rosen, all in their Philharmonic debuts (the additional soprano and mezzo-soprano will be announced at a later date).
