San Francisco Opera General Director Matthew Shilvock today announced the casting and schedule for the Company's summer 2018 presentations of Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung). The four-opera cycle of Das Rheingold,Die Walkure, Siegfried and Gotterdammerung-widely considered the greatest and most ambitious work ever conceived for the lyric stage-will be presented in three complete cycles from June 12 through July 1, 2018.

The great musician Corky Hale needs no introduction. She and her husband composer Mike Stoller have worked with everyone in the music business including Sinatra and Steisand. She is currently producing a revue entitled I Only Have Eyes For You about the music of Al Dubin. It will open at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre Friday May 13. BroadwayWorld has learned that actress Marjorie Lord has died. Best known for her starring role on the television series MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY, Lord passed away on November 28, 2015 in her Beverly Hills home of natural causes.

Longtime theater collaborators Melissa Carrelli and Caroline Davis are back at work, preparing a revival of William Luce's The Belle of Amherst - the acclaimed theatrical exploration of the private life of American poet Emily Dickinson - that debuts November 6 for nine performances at Demetria Kalodimas' The Filming Station in downtown Nashville. Running through November 22, The Belle of Amherst is a joint production of Carelli's In Another Life and producer Scott Orr's Maverick Entertainment Group, in association with Kalodimas' Genuine Human.

Catherine E. Coulson, a stage and screen actor best known for her role as The Log Lady in David Lynch's legendary TWIN PEAKS, and who made her artistic home with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 22 seasons, passed away early this morning in her home after a battle with cancer. She was 71.
