Producers Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions and Cameron Mackintosh are pleased to announce that Steffanie Leigh will star as 'Mary Poppins' in the North American tour of MARY POPPINS. Leigh, who previously understudied the title role in the touring production, replaces Caroline Sheen, who will play her final performance in Omaha at the Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, February 6th. Leigh officially takes over the role in Omaha on Tuesday, February 8th before the show arrives at the Opera House in Boston on Thursday, February 17th for a limited engagement of five weeks through March 20th. The opening night is Friday, February 18th at 8pm. The Boston engagement of MARY POPPINS is presented by arrangement with Broadway Across America - Boston and is a subscription offering of the Lexus Boston Area Dealers Broadway Across America - Boston Series. Gee's Bend depicts the turbulent history of African-Americans in the 20th century by focusing on a single family in the real community of Gee's Bend, AL, which is now famous for the beautiful quilts created by the women that grew up there. A moving tale of three generations of African-American women living in this isolated Alabama town chronicles the courage and resiliency of their life's journey. Gee's Bend highlights the life of Sadie Pettway, from her teenage years to her 70s, and the other women in her quilting circle. Their experiences inspired them to create magnificent quilts that were miraculous works of art, and inspired this haunting play filled with Gospel music that has swept the country. Likewise, it will stir North Coast Rep audiences long after the lights have faded.

PS_Classics_SONDHEIM_ON_SONDHEIM_20010101 As BroadwayWorld previously reported, PS Classics, the label dedicated to the heritage of Broadway and American popular song, recorded the original Broadway cast album of SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM on June 6th and 7th. The production, presented by Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director), began performances at Studio 54 on March 19th, opened officially on April 22nd and will close on June 27th. Today, it has been announced that the album will be available beginning August 31, 2010 in both online and retail outlets. The track list has now been unveiled on Amazon.com.

PS Classics will ship online orders of the original cast recording of SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM beginning on August 10, while the album will not be generally released until August 31.
