One of the most idiosyncratic and undeniably gifted composers and lyricists to emerge this century, Michael Mott has taken the theatre world by storm with his absolutely spectacular collection of compositions titled WHERE THE SKY ENDS: THE SONGS OF MICHAEL MOTT and now Mott discusses the finer points of his newest concert event occurring at 54 Below this week featuring an all-star cast, THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS HOW, as well as highlights some of the new material being presented in the exciting evening. In addition to some spectacular selections from WHERE THE SKY ENDS, Mott and company will also be premiering several fresh songs from Mott's new musicals currently in development, including the 70s-era mafia-themed musical comedy MOB WIFE and the epic and imaginatively conceived new mythical musical FAUSTUS. Besides the songs from new musicals, Mott will also be showcasing a few new pop compositions that he has recently completed including 'Minefield Of Love' which had its debut last month in the 54 Below show ITHACA COLLEGE AT 54 BELOW. Back Lot Music releases the score soundtrack for FURIOUS 7, Universal Pictures' upcoming action-thriller directed by James Wan and starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson today, March 31, 2015. The FURIOUS 7 Original Motion Picture Score features new music by award-winning composer Brian Tyler. FURIOUS 7 hits theaters nation-wide on April 3rd.

In just over two weeks, a parade of long-legged men and women will march into Music Hall at Fair Park, delivering Dallas the national tour of Kinky Boots. As part of Dallas Summer Musical's 75th anniversary season, the show features music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper (yes, that Cyndi Lauper!) and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Kinky Boots is the dazzling, smash-hit Broadway musical based on the 2005 film of the same name. Yesterday, I spoke with Lindsay Nicole Chambers, who stars as Lauren in the Kinky Boots tour. With three Broadway shows under her belt (Legally Blonde, Hairspray, Lysistrata Jones), and now three Broadway national tours (Elf, Hairspray, Kinky Boots), Lindsay is known for her incredible versatility and her incomparable comedic talent. She's also appeared onscreen in Across The Universe, and in Submissions Only, a comedy web series about the casting and audition process for Broadway theatre (written by and featuring some of Broadway's greatest artists). Lindsay is also no stranger to Dallas, having performed at Dallas Theatre Center in the pre-Broadway run of Lysistrata Jones (which was known as Give It Up in Dallas).

Under the direction of Producing Artistic Director Bill Berry, The 5th Avenue Theatre presents a fresh and exciting new take on the tempestuous romance, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel.
