The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors, Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham present its first special bonus offering of their 2013 season, BRITISHMANIA, a Beatles Tribute concert. 'We are about to rock out our Summer with BRITISHMANIA, one of the best Beatles tribute bands around,' offers Wood. 'How amazing to hear 35 Beatles classics performed authentically in just about two hours! Our audiences and Beatles fans will be in heaven,' adds Wareham. BRITISHMANIA will begin performances tonight, August 13 and run through Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

Famed singer, actress and Broadway star Eydie Gormé has died at age 84. Spokesperson Howard Bragman said 'Legendary singer and performer Eydie Gorme passed away peacefully today at Sunrise Hospital following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her husband, son and other loved ones at the time of her death.'
In his own statement, Steve Lawrence said: 'Eydie has been my partner on stage and in life for more than 55 years. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and even more the first time I heard her sing. While my personal loss is unimaginable, the world has lost one of the greatest pop vocalists of all time.'

The event, which will take place at the MB Financial Park at Rosemont location, will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception and the Roast of Mayor Stephens at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the evening will benefit Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

In answer to that, the Painted Bride is taking audiences back to December 5, 1833 and right into the heart of the founding of the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society. This creation, If She Stood, will run for six performances - tonight, April 26, 2013 at 8pm, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 8pm, and Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 3pm, followed by Today, May 3, 2013 at 8pm, Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 8pm and Sunday May 5, 2013 at 3pm, at the Painted Bride Art Center during the 2013 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts.

Ballet at its best connects the audience to the art of dance and succeeds in captivating them with a story or theme. Bark in the Park by The New York Theatre Ballet did just that with their debut performance at El Museo Del Barrio at 1230 Fifth Avenue in New York City on Tuesday, February 5th. Young and old alike were fascinated as NYTB dancers performed the story of the Tucker family who lose their beloved family dog, Mr. Benjamin, in Central Park.
