Opera North is thrilled to have an amazing group of singers and creative team members ready for opening night of Opera North's Summerfest 2016 this Friday, July 29th at Lebanon Opera House.

A gripping tragedy of love that transcends all, Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA follows a courageous Nubian princess as she is forced to choose between passion and allegiance.  This poignant musical features HAMILTON's own Emmy Raver-Lampman as Aida and Broadway's Mark Evans as Radames.

LEBANON, NH – Opera North is pleased to announce the principal roles for Daughter of the Regiment, one of its three 2016 mainstage productions. The role of Marie will be shared by Martha Eason and Lindsay Ohse; the role of Tonio will be shared by Martin Clark and Andrew Surrena; the role of The Marquise of Birkenfeld will be shared by Natalie Rose Havens and Heather Gallagher; and Alex Soare will play Sergeant Sulpice. In addition, Maureen Brennan will appear as the Duchess of Krakenthorp.

Opera North is pleased to announce the principal cast and creative team for Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's EVITA, one of its three Summerfest 2016 mainstage productions, to be held July 29 - August 13 at the Lebanon Opera House. 

The 70th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 12th at 8/9c hosted by James Corden. On February 15, 2016 HAMILTON will perform its opening number live at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. Only eight musicals (nine, if you count RIVERDANCE) have had this honor since the first Grammy Award ceremony in 1959. HAMILTON will make history, yet again, as the first show to perform via satellite during the ceremony; while the ceremony is at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, the cast will be performing on their set at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York City.

Broadway and Vegas star Brent Barrett will not perform the title role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at Germany's Stage Metronom Theater in Oberhausen due to an injury. David Arnsperger will step in for the role.

New Line Theatre, "the bad boy of musical theatre," celebrates its 25th anniversary season of adult, alternative musical theatre, with a new, expanded line-up, a brand new theatre, and a very special thank-you to the St. Louis community -- '25 for 25.' At the Thursday preview performance for each show this season, New Line will set aside 25 tickets, and the first 25 people in line at the box office at 7:00 pm will each get a ticket for 25 cents (one ticket per person).

By far, my largest collection of non-English cast CDs consists of Japanese cast recordings, many of which were released by Gekidan Shiki (Shiki Theatre Company). Performances begin tonight, Friday, March 20 and run through Sunday, April 12. Press night is scheduled for Opening Night Friday, March 27. Appropriate for ages 17 +. As a concert production, there will be no live nudity, though documentary photographs of the original production will be projected.

A successful Broadway company manager, general manager and producer for more than 20 years, Peter Neufeld passed away peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson's disease this morning, January 27, 2015, at The Actors Fund's Lillian Booth Residence in Englewood, NJ, where he had been living since 2007. He was 78.
