Custom Made Theatre Company opens its 18th season in San Francisco with Chess, the legendary rock opera from Tim Rice ("Evita","Jesus Christ Superstar") and Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, members of the celebrated pop group, ABBA. Set towards the end of the cold war, Chess uses politics and sport as metaphor for a love triangle between an enfant-terrible American superstar (loosely modeled on Bobby Fisher), his Hungarian-born lover/second, and a Soviet player looking to start a new life.  

John Leguizamo is proud to present The Q Brothers' Othello: The Remix, written, directed and composed by GQ and JQ, which will make its New York debut at the Westside Theatre (407 W. 43rd), beginning previews on Tuesday, October 25th and officially opening on Thursday, November 17th.

"I haven't specifically counted," the dynamic actress sitting opposite me replies. "Somewhere between 1000-2000 performances, I think. Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, announces a one-week extension to Company, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth. The production is directed by William Brown. Company features original orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, Orchestral Reductions by Ian Weinberger, music direction by Tom Vendafreddo and choreography by Brock Clawson. The show, originally slated to run through July 31, 2016, will add an additional week, through August 7, in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.

GUYS AND DOLLS is currently taking the West End by storm, and now the sizzling New York tale of gamblers, gangsters and nightclub singers comes to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre from Tuesday 19 to Saturday 23 July.

Joe is transformed into a star slugger after he makes a deal with the devil and his sexy associate, Lola, for a chance to lead his home team to victory in the pennant race against the New York Yankees.

Dreamland, a new musical conceived, written, composed by 14-time Emmy Award winner John Francis Smith with daughter Asia Ray Smith, will have its first ever "off-book" staged performances at the NoHo Arts Center Friday, June 17 at 8:00 pm; and Saturday, June 18 at 2:00 and 8:00 pm.  The production is also produced by Smith.  Robert Arnold directs, with musical direction by Christian Regul and Jake Anthony (who also serves as vocal director).

             Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot tells the legendary tale of King Arthur's quest to find the Holy Grail, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.  Throughout the show, Arthur, traveling with his servant Patsy, recruits several knights to accompany him on his quest, including Sir Bedevere, Sir Robin, Sir Lancelot and Sir Galahad.  On their way, they meet the Lady of the Lake, Not Dead Fred, the Black Knight, and the Knights who say Ni.

Tonic Theatre today announces the inaugural Tonic Celebrates event which is a new initiative for the company celebrating the achievements of inspirational women in theatre. For the first event on 22 June at Ambassadors Theatre, Tonic Theatre's Director Lucy Kerbel will be in conversation with multi award-winning lighting designer Paule Constable, Artistic Director of the Tricycle Theatre Indhu Rubasingham, and playwright Jessica Swale. The 70th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 12th at 8/9c hosted by James Corden. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long awards season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize.

First casting is announced today for Broadway musical Side Show, which receives its UK premiere at Southwark Playhouse.
