Star of Evita on Broadway and rising Country Music singer Rachel Potter will play her final NYC show at Rockwood Music Hall, Stage 2 tonight, February 10.

A few months ago, producers Hal Luftig and Scott Sanders announced that Grammy Award-winning international pop icon Ricky Martin as Che, Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger as Eva Perón and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Perón would play their final performance on Saturday, January 26, 2013. At that time, it was announced as well that the should would be announcing new stars and the production would be continuing its run. Later, they have revealed that the show will play its final performance on Saturday, January 26, tonight, after 26 previews and 337 regular performances.

Star of Evita on Broadway and rising Country Music singer Rachel Potter will play her final NYC show at Rockwood Music Hall, Stage 2. Featuring an opening set by Patryk Larney, Rachel Potter will be performing songs from her country/pop EP Live The Dream and debuting new original tunes. Don't miss your chance to see Rachel perform at her last show in NYC before her move to Nashville in March.

On Tuesday, January 22nd, members of the Broadway company of Evita joined forces with Sing For Your Seniors to bring a very special performance to the seniors at Village Adult Day Health Center. The musical performance, hosted by Sing For Your Seniors' Executive Director Jackie Vanderbeck, included songs of the performers' choosing as well of songs from Evita. Now according to the New York Times, a slew of stars were being considered to fill the leading roles. Antonio Banderas, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, Ramin Karimloo and Raul Esparza were all being considered to play Che, though they were not able to 'reach any deals.' Additionally, Lea Michele and Sierra Boggess were 'discussed for the title role of Eva Peron.'

At that time, it was announced as well that the should would be announcing new stars and the production would be continuing its run. Now, they have revealed that the show will play its final performance on Saturday, January 26, 2013, after 26 previews and 337 regular performances.

This record-breaking, Tony-nominated production of Tim Rice's and Andrew Lloyd Webber's landmark musical will continue its open-ended run following the original stars' departure. The new stars will be announced at a later date.

EVITA has just cancelled its 2 p.m. performance for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 31, due to Hurricane Sandy.

EVITA star Ricky Martin, whose antics during Broadway's 'Saturday Intermission Pics' ritual each weekend are followed religiously by fans, Tweeted something new this weekend: a picture of himself with no pants on.
