This Tuesday, the Trust will unveil a large-scale light project that artfully visualizes the electromagnetic field of an active mobile phone. With funding from The Fine Foundation, The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust commissioned the Netherlands-based artist collective, Informationlab, to create Cell Phone Disco, the city's first art+science interactive installation.

Orange County Performance Art Center’s Free Movie Mondays Return This Summer

The Orange County Performing Arts Center's Free or All series continues this summer with the enormously popular and eagerly awaited return of free Movie Mondays on the community plaza. This year's line-up will be the biggest and best ever with five great movies: the timeless classic The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland; the screwball comedy Some Like it Hot starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon; the Dickensian musical Oliver! being presented in partnership with public radio station KCRW-Santa Monica (89.9 FM and www.KCRW.com); the coming-of-age story Dirty Dancing featuring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze; and the inspiring documentary about New York City school students learning to dance in Mad Hot Ballroom, which was chosen in an audience poll last summer. The Center has always been 'the place' in Orange County to experience Broadway's best and brightest, and Movie Mondays offers audiences the most fun and exciting musical and dance films under the stars and all for free.

Kandis Chappell and Melanie Lora take on the celebrated roles of Professor Ruth Steiner and Lisa Morrison in Donald Margulies? Collected Stories at South Coast Repertory. Margulies? Pulitzer Prize-nominated play about two women writers at opposite stages of their careers is one of SCR?s best-known commissions and has achieved worldwide success. Directed by Artistic Director Martin Benson, Collected Stories will run from May 15 through June 14, 2009 on the Segerstrom Stage. Low-priced previews are available from May 15 through May 21. New York City is hosting the first-ever NATIONAL ASIAN AMERICAN THEATER FESTIVAL (NAATF) from June 11-24, 2007, featuring more than 25 Asian American performing arts companies and solo artists convening for two weeks of performances at venues throughout the city.
