Following a critically acclaimed, sold out run of Singin' in the Rain, the 2018 Broadway At Music Circus season continues with Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, a show Broadway World called a "daring, dazzling choreographic extravaganza." With iconic choreography and a Tony®-nominated score, this rollicking musical based on the beloved MGM film features a crafty and assertive young bride living in the 1850s Oregon wilderness. She attempts to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law, but her plan goes comically wrong. Featuring high-kicking dance numbers, heartfelt romance and soaring songs. Performances of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers are Tuesday, June 26 through Sunday, July 1 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion.

The full cast for The 5th Avenue Theatre's spectacular new production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which stars Deaf actorJoshua Castille as Quasimodo, has been announced. Castille will use American Sign Language (ASL) throughout his performance, bringing new life and perspective to Quasimodo, who is deaf in the novel by Victor Hugo.

The internationally renowned Lar Lubovitch Dance Company celebrates its 50th anniversary this spring with two programs at The Joyce Theater featuring the world premiere of Lar Lubovitch's Something About Night as well as signature works from the Company's vast repertory. The Company will be joined by the Martha Graham Dance Company and principals from The Joffrey Ballet, each performing seminal Lubovitch dances in honor of this milestone year. San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced details for the fifth production of its 42nd season, Vietgone, which will be making its San Diego premiere after a successful Off-Broadway run. A love story like no other from playwright Qui Nguyen ( She Kills Monsters ), Vietgone, will feature innovative artists new to the San Diego REP, including director Jesca Prudencio (Ping Chong + Company) and starring Ben Levin ( Allegiant and Ugly Betty ) and Katherine Ko ( Hollywood and Angels in America ). This moving comedy begins on Thursday, January 25, 2018 and plays through Sunday, February 18, 2018 with an opening night on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP in Horton Plaza.

When your job is to share your honest feedback on local productions, the only thing more disappointing than delivering a negative review is having a poor audience experience. So, it is with regret that I share that THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, Lyric Stage's first production of the 2018-2019 season, although it has some sweet sounding moments, rarely accomplishes more than testing the endurance of its ticket buyers.
