The show, will be directed by Redhouse Artistic Director, Tony Nominated actor and Director Hunter Foster, who is coming off his directorial debut at Redhouse of the smash hit RENT. a?oeThis show portrays a very realistic and sometimes uncomfortable view of parenting and manages to do it in a very fast-paced and comedic waya??. The show opens at Redhouse November 7th with performances running through November 17th.

Minnesota Orchestra President and CEO Michelle Miller Burns announced today that Music Director Osmo Vänskä and the Minnesota Orchestra will embark on a tour to South Korea and Vietnam in June 2020, continuing its legacy of musical diplomacy and mounting one of the signature events of Vänskä's final three years as the Orchestra's music director. Vänskä and the Orchestra, at the invitation of the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam, will perform in Hanoi to celebrate the 25th anniversary of restored diplomatic relations between the United States and Vietnam. The Orchestra will additionally perform in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon) and participate in engagement activities with students in both cities. The tour, which will run from June 21 to July 3, will open with a performance on June 24 in South Korea at Seoul's Lotte Concert Hall, creating an opportunity to foster connections with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, where Vänskä was recently appointed music director. Tours centered around cultural exchange have become a hallmark of the Minnesota Orchestra during Vänskä's tenure, with the ensemble traveling recently to South Africa and Cuba.

The month-long Origin 1st Irish Theatre Festival, the world's only festival devoted to producing the plays of contemporary Irish playwrights from around the world, runs four weeks from January 7 to February 3, 2020. A total 15 events, including seven mainstage productions from Belfast, Dublin, Wexford, and Manhattan and Queens, will be seen in- and out-of-competition. Among the productions, three are American premieres; two are world premieres. 15 contemporary Irish writers are represented with work in the Festival.

National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019.  Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $25,000 to Mark DeGarmo Dance for its Partnerships in Literacy through Dance and Creativity program. Art Works is the Arts Endowment's principal grantmaking program. The agency received 1,592 Art Works applications for this round of grantmaking, and will award 977 grants in this category.

Have you heard of a little musical called HAMILTON?  Considering how much attention this show has gotten for the past three years, it almost seems impossible for it to be as good as people say it is.  Surely people are just caught up in the hype and the moment? I'm happy to say that that's not the case at all, and all praise for this musical is well-earned. It hits the sweet spot of compelling characters, catchy songs, excellent performances and fantastic dance sequences.

The contemporary dance company also presents the West Coast Premiere of Resolve by the L.A.-based choreographic duo Wewolf, comprised of b-boy influencer Rubberlegz and dancemaker James Gregg, which brings heart-pumping electronic dance music to life through an intricate and unique movement style; a reprise performance Matthew Neenan's A Million Voices which had its World Premiere at the company's Wallis debut in 2018; and the U.S. Premiere of psycho-dance-drama (d)elusive minds by Nederlands Dans Theater 2 Artistic Director Fernando Hernando Magadan.
