The BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop announces its Winter Smoker, a semi-annual showcase for new songs from Workshop writers.

Following a highly successful, limited-run, return engagement at the DR2 Kids Theatre (103 E. 15th Street, NYC), producer Daryl Roth announces that the Drama Desk-nominated musical comedy for all ages, DEAR EDWINA, will have its final performance on Monday, February 15. The remaining weeks of the show's run include three extra performances to accommodate families during Presidents' Day weekend.

The Junior Theatre Fest will pay tribute to the leadership and dedication of Music Theatre International (MTI) Chairman Freddie Gershon by renaming its annual student awards for excellence in theater 'The FreddieG's.' In 1995, he created MTI Education, the first educational division in a major musical theater licensing firm, which over the past 15 years has literally transformed the marketplace for age appropriate performance material for young performers. Today, the Lucille Lortel Awards Administration Committee and the Lucille Lortel Foundation announce the recipient of the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award: Daryl Roth.
