The first-ever LOUDWIRE MUSIC AWARDS--the ultimate rock 'n' roll award ceremony and concert--announced today (July 19) that the GRAMMY Award-winning ROB HALFORD of JUDAS PRIEST, one of rock and metal's most acclaimed and beloved icons, will be this year's recipient of the Lemmy Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) Free For All, one of the capital's most beloved annual traditions offering free performances of a Shakespearean classic to the general public each summer, will return next month with the Company's 2016 production of William Shakespeare's Othello. Helmed by internationally acclaimed director Ron Daniels and starring screen actor Faran Tahir in the titular role, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St. NW) from August 15-27, offering more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

Today, The 24 Hour Musicals: Los Angeles announced that composer/lyricist Jesse Eisenberg (The Spoils), singer/songwriter Nellie McKay, Alex Newell (Glee), Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Daredevil), Ashley Fink (Glee), and Amanda Seales (Insecure) will join the star-studded line-up of talent participating in the first ever Los Angeles presentation of The 24 Hour Musicals, a one-night-only performance at the United Artists Theater at Ace Hotel on Monday, July 17.

Underbelly Productions have today announced full casting for a brand new production of Clarke Peters' Olivier Award-winning and Tony-Award nominated musical, Five Guys Named Moe. The production will open on 14 September 2017 in a new temporary theatre in Marble Arch, London. Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Today's big news: The musical adaptation of the cult '90s hit ROMY AND MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION makes its World Premiere in Seattle!

Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie and Broadway producer Joey Parnes announced today that the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, 'Crazy for You,' with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award nominee Ken Ludwig ('Lend Me a Tenor'), will be produced by Center Theatre Group in an exclusive pre-Broadway engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre. Susan Stroman ('The Producers,' 'Show Boat,' 'Contact'), who won the first of her five Tony Awards for choreographing the original 1992 Broadway production of the musical, will direct and choreograph this limited Los Angeles engagement which will begin performances February 7, 2018, and run through March 18, 2018.

I have great advice for The Gershwin Trust, those descendants of George and Ira who have clipped coupons all their lives by virtue of the brothers' genius and copywrite law. They wrote 17 Broadway shows. Only one, GIRL CRAZY (rewritten and renamed CRAZY FOR YOU, compiled without input from The Trust in 1992 and choreographed by Candlelight's own superstar Sue Stroman) is produced contemporarily

'Faust 3: The Turd Coming, or The Fart of the Deal' by Paul David Young, a political satire of the Trump fiasco performed by an ensemble of four clowns, will have its world premiere June 11 to 26 in The Meeting Room of Judson Memorial Church, 55 Washington Square South, presented by Skylight Productions.  Augustus Heagerty directs.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre is proud to congratulate What Would Crazy Horse Do? Director, Sam Pinkleton on his Tony Award Nomination Best Choreography for his work on this season's Broadway hit musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, which led the field with 12 nominations, including Best Musical. By now, the idea has morphed into a pop-culture game lampooning (or honoring) one of our most prolific actors, but when John Guare's play, Six Degrees of Separation, debuted on Broadway in 1990, the idea that everyone on the planet was connected through a web of just six other people was a hard to imagine. So, to celebrate the 27-year history of Guare's play, we are going to attempt to connect the stars who originated the main roles on Broadway to the actors that assumed them for the revival, using only Broadway credits; hopefully we can get there in just six 'degrees.'
