On August 30, 31 and September 1, the aerial artists, acrobats, jugglers and strongmen of Cirque de la Symphonie will join the Houston Symphony in its Centennial year kicking off its newest season of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell POPS at Jones Hallconcert series. Principal Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski will take the podium as audience members experience the excitement of daredevil performers meeting fiery symphonic music. Since their Houston debut in 2006, Cirque de la Symphonie has performed to rave reviews with sold-out, enthusiastic crowds around the world.

Tonight, July 27 at 7:30 p.m., the Houston Symphony will present a concert featuring Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons live at Jones Hall. Having collaborated with a multitude of artists ranging from Liza Minnelli to The Beach Boys, conductor and keyboardist Robby Robinson will lead the orchestra in an evening of hit singles that catapulted the famous foursome to the top of the charts. Sure to captivate and ignite the imagination of audience members of all ages, the concert will feature music from all 13 iconic Pixar films including the Toy Story trilogy, UP, Wall-E,Brave, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, A Bug's Life, Cars 1 and 2, Monsters, Inc. and The Incredibles.

Recently described by the New York Times as 'Captivating!' and 'Bombastic!' guest conductor Emmanuel Fratianni and host Tommy Tallarico will bring the number one touring video game concert in the world back to the Houston Symphony. This immersive concert event features an all new program with music from Pokemon, Skyrim, Super Smash Bros, Zelda, World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy and over 30 additional games combined with exclusive synchronized video, music arrangements, lighting and audience interactive experiences.

On July 6, the Houston Symphony will present a concert featuring Music of the Rolling Stones in the comfort of air-conditioned Jones Hall. Under the direction of guest conductor Brent Havens, the Symphony will perform a rock 'n' roll tribute concert to The Rolling Stones featuring many of the band's greatest hits including "I Can't Get No (Satisfaction)," "You Can't Always Get What You Want," "Start Me Up," "Ruby Tuesday" and more. Vocalist Brody Dolyniuk will perform alongside the Symphony, portraying the distinctive vocals of the band's lead singers, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. With the sounds of the band's blues infused rock 'n' roll, the concert will take audiences back to the 1960s when British rock and pop bands took American musical culture by storm.

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre has announced its 2013/2014 Season, which will include two treasures from iconic American playwrights. The critically-acclaimed and Drama Desk nominated Off-Broadway company 'dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit,' will present the family drama Natural Affection by William Inge and the comedy Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang, Off-Broadway at The Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Theatre Row. Neither play has been seen in NYC since their original productions.

The concert will feature popular works by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov. Performing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A major, 28-year old Israeli clarinetist Moran Katz won the 38th annual Houston Symphony League's Ima Hogg Competition on Saturday, June 1 at Rice University's Stude Concert Hall. Katz's first place win earned her a Gold Medal, the solo spotlight at Jones Hall with the Houston Symphony at the Houston Chronicle Concert on July 13 and the Grace Woodson Memorial Award of $25,000. The cash prize was increased from $5,000 to $25,000 in this year's competition, thanks to a generous gift of Symphony patrons John and Tracy Dennis. In addition to the top prize, Katz also won the $1,000 Herman Shoss Audience Choice Award and the $1,000 Robert and Nancy Peiser Award for Artistic Encouragement, which was selected by members of the Houston Symphony.
