Variety reports that Ethan Hawke will direct a film adaptation of Tennessee Williams' 'Camino Real,' which was considered the playwright's most experiental play.

Ethan Hawke is set to direct a film adaptation of the 1953 Tennessee Williams play 'Camino Real', according to Deadline. Hawke had previously starred as Kilroy in Camino Real in the stage production at the Williamstown Theater Festival in 1999. 

The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival (September 21-24) is excited to welcome a new touring production of the Tennessee Williams play Ten Blocks on the Camino Real, directed by Festival Curator David Kaplan and performed by Abibigromma, the national drama company of Ghana.

This summer The Tennessee Williams Theatre Company of New Orleans will transport audiences to this sultry dreamscape at the glorious Marigny Opera House (725 St. Ferdinand Street) beginning in July and running through August.

The Mutilated will now run through March 13, 2016. This spring, Atlanta Ballet will present the world premiere of a ballet based on "Camino Real" by Tennessee Williams, the renowned playwright who authored such American classics as "A Streetcar Named Desire" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". Choreographed by Atlanta Ballet choreographer in residence Helen Pickett, Williams' "lost classic" of love, redemption and courage will debut March 20-22 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
