Wave Productions in association with Shetler Studios & Theatres will present the World Premiere of Charles Cissel's GOD STEELING, a revealing look at the lives of New York City ironworkers. Directed by Robin A. Paterson, previews began March 8 at Theater 54. Opening is slated for tonight, March 14.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced its 2013-2014 theater season. Reaching hundreds of thousands of audience members annually, the theater season features a new Kennedy Center re-imagining of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell's Side Show, in association with La Jolla Playhouse with revisions by Krieger and Russell and direction by Academy Award winning director Bill Condon; touring productions of Sister Act, Elf, Flashdance – The Musical, Peter and the Starcatcher, An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, and Disney's The Lion King; and an international theater festival highlighting renowned companies from around the world. The season will also bring the seventh season of Barbara Cook's Spotlight series, individually showcasing five Broadway performers in a cabaret setting. Committed to arts education, creation of new works, and community and national involvement, the Center also hosts the 12th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival and the 46th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

Marking its 15th Anniversary this year, Chicago's Fulcrum Point New Music Project has grown into a critically acclaimed ensemble performing adventurous contemporary classical music programs in a variety of Chicago area venues. In 2013, Fulcrum Point continues this tradition with a wide ranging season including a performance with 100-member orchestra of the John Corigliano film score, 'Altered States,' accompanying the film screening, April 23, in honor of the composer's 75th birthday year, along with presenting a free Concert for Peace in the Pritzker Pavillion at Millennium Park with special guest artists, sarod virtuoso Soumik Datta and the Chicago Children's Choir, September 11.

The McCallum Theatre will play host to The Manhattan Transfer for one SRO performance on Saturday, January 18 at 8:00 pm as part of their stellar Fitz's Jazz Café series. For more than 30 years, Manhattan Transfer has remained one of the most popular jazz vocal groups of all time. The quartet (Tim Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegel and Cheryl Bentyne) is known for their amazing harmonies, acapella and vocalese stylings. Manhattan Transfer has earned multiple Grammy Awards, worldwide sales in the millions, and legions of dedicated fans. In addition, in 1999, the Manhattan Transfer was among the first class of inductees into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
