Access Theater is thrilled to announce the theater companies and artists who have been selected for their upcoming 2017-2018 Residency program. The six theater companies to participate include: Naked Angels, Concrete Temple Theatre, Everyday Inferno, New Light Theater Project, No. 11 Productions, and Thicket & Thistle; the nine individual artists include: Joey Brenneman, Arlene Hutton, Wes Goodrich, Lisa Huberman, Steven Meeker Jr., Kyle Metzger/Dina Vovsi, Robert Siverls, and Sarah Wansley.

The acclaimed Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus with Broadway stars Laura Osnes (currently Bandstand on Broadway) and Santino Fontana (the voice of Hans in Disney's Frozen), along with conductor Ted Sperling, will take audiences through the ups and downs of romance, with music from Frozen, Cinderella, and classic and contemporary shows including West Side Story, Follies, Oklahoma and more.

Pocket Universe presents a new, all-female production of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, starring Alyssa May Gold (Arcadia on Broadway, Middle of the Night) as Brutus, Dea Julien (West Side Story 1st Nat'l Tour, Blueprint Specials) as Julius Caesar, Violeta Picayo (BEDLAM's Sense & Sensibility, RadioBABEL) as Mark Antony, Madeline Wolf (Fun Home on Broadway, Normativity) as Cassius, Miranda Cornell (Alter Ego, #Blessed) as Casca, and Amie Tedesco (Lemon Sky, Any Day Now) as Lucius. All other roles will be played by members of the company. The production will run through July 8, 2017 at the Access Theater Gallery Space. Opening night is tonight, June 23.

Five free weekends of the best and brightest entertainment from some of the UK's leading arts and culture organisations will once again arrive at London's South Bank this summer; The Glory, HOME, Manchester, WOMAD, Rambert and the National Theatre each 'take over' the River Stage for a weekend throughout July and August.

Some theater goers love the classics. Some don't. But everybody loves a good deal, right? The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) is a comedy suited for both Shakespeare lovers and haters! A special Tuesday matinee has been scheduled for July 18 at 2pm. Waterwell announced today a strictly limited engagement of a new dual language (English/Farsi) version of Hamlet at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture (18 Bleecker Street). Starring Tony Award nominees Arian Moayed as Hamlet, Sherie Rene Scott as Gertrude, and Micah Stock as Horatio, with direction by Drama Desk nominee Tom Ridgely, Hamlet will begin performances on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, with an opening night set for Sunday, May 21 at 8:00pm, and will play through June 3.

Waterwell announced today the revival of the Blueprint Specials, a series of lost WWII-era musicals composed principally by Broadway legend Frank Loesser to be presented in association with the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival. The production will star Tony Award nominees Laura Osnes (Cinderella, Bonnie and Clyde) and Will Swenson (Hair) and be directed by Drama Desk nominee Tom Ridgely.
