SHOWTIME has announced a timely new three-part documentary series SHUT UP AND DRIBBLE, a powerful inside look at the changing role of athletes in our fraught cultural and political environment, through the lens of the NBA. Executive produced by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, the series will premiere this October on SHOWTIME. 'Arizona Justice,' written and performed by Katherine Brann Fredricks, is a Michael Moore/Spalding Gray style documentary expose of corruption in Arizona, involving Senator Barry Goldwater, land fraud, water rights, the mob, money laundering and murder between the 1960's and the early 2000's. Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival will present the play's world premiere August 26 to September 5.   Adam Chisnall directs.

The American Dance Festival (ADF) will convene a panel titled “Why Do They Fall Down? The Story of Modern Dance in China” to celebrate 30 years of modern dance in China. The New York Philharmonic's 2018 Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, will feature James Gaffigan conducting music celebrating Laureate Conductor Leonard Bernstein's centennial, evocative works highlighting the Orchestra's virtuosity, and music by students in the Philharmonic's Very Young Composers (VYC) program - the first time that VYC works have been performed in the parks concerts.

The Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet returns to D.C. on April 19, 2018 with long-time collaborator Wu Man to perform their major collaborative work, A Chinese Home, at Lisner Auditorium, presented by Washington Performing Arts. The 2018 New York Philharmonic Concerts in the Parks, Presented by Didi and Oscar Schafer, will return for the 53rd season with free outdoor concerts, conducted by James Gaffigan, at Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx (June 12); the Great Lawn in Central Park, Manhattan (June 13); Cunningham Park, Queens (June 14); and Prospect Park, Brooklyn (June 15). In addition, Musicians from the New York Philharmonic will perform chamber music at the Free Indoor Concert at the Music Hall at Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden on June 17, 2018. Artists and repertoire for all of the concerts will be announced at a later date.
