Weller Martin tries desperately to retain some control over his life despite falling into ill health and becoming a reluctant resident of a nursing home. Fonsia Dorsey serves as the symbol of all gone wrong, and his battles with her, though over a simple game of gin, become not only a conflict with the woman but with divine will itself.

Playwright D.L. Coburn won the Pulitzer Prize in 1978. His other plays include Bluewater Cottage, Cause, The Confession, Fear of Darkness and more. The Gin Game debuted at a 99-seat theatre in Hollywood in 1976 before transferring to Broadway.

Alan Blumenfeld stars as Weller in the Sierra Madre Playhouse production. He has appeared in over 40 feature films and over 130 television episodes, but is possibly most familiar to national audiences for his role as Maury Parkman in the TV series Heroes. He recently starred in the hit production of The Chosen at the Fountain Theatre.

Katherine James stars as Fonsia. She previously portrayed Amanda in the Sierra Madre Playhouse production of The Glass Menagerie. She appeared with her husband, Alan Blumenfeld, in Tone Clusters, Talley's Folly and Noel---Coward! at Theatricum Botanicum. She is the author of numerous plays. Also a director, she recently helmed Ashes to Ashes at the Odyssey Theatre.

Christian Lebano directs. The Artistic Director of Sierra Madre Playhouse, his many directing credits include Woman in Mind (L.A. Times Critic's Choice), Deathtrap (Ovation Award winner), A Christmas Story, 4000 Miles, The Glass Menagerie (Ovation Award nominee) and more. Also an actor, his stage appearances include Opus, Bee-Luther-Hatchee, Our Town, To Kill a Mockingbird, God's Man in Texas and more.

The Sierra Madre Playhouse production of The Gin Game provides you with the opportunity to see exceptional artists stage an intimate classic of the American Theatre.
