The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Kellner-Avery Productions announce the addition of 2 performances to the World Premiere production of HURRICANE. This epic new musical takes an all-but-forgotten moment in history and brings it to life with the largest cast in NYMF history, 30 in all. Directed by Michael Bush, HURICANE features a book by Michael Holland and Eric Bernat, and music and lyrics by Michael Holland. After selling out its initial run, two performances have been added: Fri. Oct. 9 at 5pm and Tues. Oct. 13 at 5pm. A complete schedule is below.

Ethan Keene, playwright and comic book writer, is on the verge of having it all - success, money, and a Hollywood movie credit. But getting to that Hollywood Premiere may be more dramatic than the movie. His father is having a marital crisis, his boyfriend is begging for more attention, and his producer is demanding a re-write. Based on a Totally True Story is the story of one wanna-be screenwriter's attempt to find his own happy ending before the final credits roll.

Written by one of the most exciting young playwrights today, Roberto Aguire Sacasa saw five of his new plays produced between 2006 through 2008 at major U.S. Theatres : Based on a Totally True Story, at the Manhattan Theatre Club, Good Boys and True (at Second Stage), The Velvet Sky at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre, King of Sorrows (Working Theatre) at and Dark Matters at the Rattlestick Theatre. He is the author The Muckle Man, which earned two Helen Hayes Award nominations, including The Charles MacArthur Award for Best New Play. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama. Additionally, Roberto proudly writes The Fantastic Four and Spider-Man for Marvel Comics and is developing Dark Matters into a horror screenplay for Warner Brothers.

Now going strong it's third, THE AFTER PARTY is billed as 'a weekly schmoozefest for the theatrically inclined.' Every Friday from 10:30 pm until the wee hours, pros from Broadway and aspiring stars alike belt it out on the stage of The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Join hosts BRANDON CUTRELL (Bistor, MAC and Nightlife Award winner) and ALYSHA UMPHRESS (Make Me A Song) with RAY FELLMAN (Bistro Award winner) at the piano for this weekly party in the theatre district. In the Beginning runs Jan. 21-Feb. 15 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. Presenting familiar stories from Genesis - the creation of the world, Adam and Eve in Eden, jealousy and murder among brothers, the world's destruction by water - In the Beginning offers a fresh retelling of age-old tales interspersed with engaging dialogue taken directly from conversations with local community members and respected religious scholars about the text. 'In the Beginning does not present a single, definitive interpretation of the stories we find in Genesis,' Moriarty says. 'Rather, it is a reflection of the conversations we've had with people of faith throughout our community about the text and the personal truths and insights they've found through their own explorations into these stories.'

An all-star benefit concert performance of DRIFT, with music and lyrics by Jeremy Schonfeld and directed by Lauren Kennedy, will be presented at BB King Blues Club & Grill on Monday, November 3 at 8PM. The rock-musical weaves raw and gracefully honest songs together to tell the story of one man's divorce and reconciliation. DRIFT - In Concert boasts the talents of Adam Pascal, Adam Kantor, Terrence Mann, Jarrod Emick and Julia Murney.
