Music Theater Works has announced that registration is open for the final YouthREACH production of its 2024 season, Babes in Toyland, with weekday rehearsals and performance at Music Theater Works' Joyce Saxon Rehearsal Hall in Wilmette.

Tickets for each of the online events are available at PorchlightMusicTheatre.org. Links are available for viewing 72 hours after purchase.  Porchlight also announces the return of the popular series celebrating the 90th birthday of Stephen Sondheim, Sondheim@90 Roundtable with Michael Weber. The series returns Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. CST with a discussion on Road Show with guests Deanna Dunagan, Chris Jones and Michael Mahler.

'Babes in Toyland' is now showing at the Growing Stage Theatre in Netcong, NJ through December 16th. It's a wonderful production with something for kids of all ages.

After producer Fred Hamlin christened Columbus Circle's Majestic Theatre with a spectacular musical extravaganza based on L. Frank Baum's 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' (The show had nothing to do with the classic MGM film.), he sought to follow up with another memorable production with a family-friendly setting.

The production will be conducted and directed by MasterVoices' Artistic Director Ted Sperling and will feature Kelli O'Hara (Contrary Mary), Bill Irwin (Master Toymaker), Christopher Fitzgerald (Alan), Lauren Worsham (Jane), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Tom Tom), Jonathan Freeman (Uncle Barnaby), Chris Sullivan (Gonzorgo), Jeffrey Schecter (Roderigo), Michael Kostroff (Chief Inspector Marmaduke), and Blair Brown (The Narrator), with the 130 singers of MasterVoices and Orchestra of St. Luke's. Musical Staging by Andrew Palermo, Costume Consulting by Tracy Christensen, and Concert Adaptation by Joe Keenan and Ted Sperling.

Lolli-Pops Concerts (recommended for ages 3-5) will present PETER AND THE WOLF with guest conductor Ankush Kumar Bahl today, December 15, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. and Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Kate Playhouse at Hunter College.

The Library of Congress and the Music Division will open "The Musical Worlds of Victor Herbert" on Aug. 16. The exhibition will be free and open to the public, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, from Aug. 16, 2012, to Jan. 26, 2013, in the Performing Arts Reading Room Gallery in the Library's James Madison Building, 101 Independence Ave. S.E., Washington, D.C.
