The Little Orchestra Society will present two great December 2012 concerts, beginning with Happy Concerts' BABES IN TOYLAND (recommended for ages 6-12), with guest conductor James Judd on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

A cast of eighteen singing and dancing toys… a loveable Toymaker and his young apprentice… a dastardly team of entrepreneurial villains… and an army of more than one hundred toy soldiers! The Little Orchestra Society presents a rollicking update of Victor Herbert’s 1903 holiday extravaganza, BABES IN TOYLAND. An array of beloved characters performs March of the Toys, Toyland and other favorite tunes. Take a trip to Toyland for the holidays!

Performances are at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall (65th Street and Broadway). Single tickets: $15, $25, $45, $55; 3-concert series from $45 or $135; available by calling 212/971-9500, at littleorchestra.org, at the Avery Fisher Hall box office and by calling CenterCharge at 212/721-6500.

Lolli-Pops Concerts (recommended for ages 3-5) will present PETER AND THE WOLF with guest conductor Ankush Kumar Bahl on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. and Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. and 2:30 P.M. at the Kate Playhouse at Hunter College (695 Park Avenue on 68th Street, between Park and Lexington Avenues).

A new spin on a classic tale! The Lolli-Pops gang lifts Peter’s adventure right off the page, as children and adults will see and hear how musical themes evoke characters, and how the orchestra tells a story.

Tickets: $15 (rear balcony/rear orchestra) or $45 (front balcony/front orchestra); available by calling 212/971-9500 or at littleorchestra.org or call The Kaye Playhouse box office at 212/772-4448.
