Previews will begin today at Virginia's Signature Theatre for the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees written by Ricky Ian Gordon, the award-winning composer of the opera The Grapes of Wrath and the musicals Dream True and My Life with Albertine. A starry Broadway cast portrays Gordon's own family story - complete with a tough Bronx-born father and former 'Borscht Belt' singer/comedian mother - in a tale of two generations' struggles and triumphs in the decades from World War II through the 1990s.

In a recent study by Telegraph Online for their 2010 Rich List series, theatre stars comprised of two of the top 5 richest music moguls. Andrew Lloyd Webber was placed number three on the list, coming in at a net worth of £700 million, followed closely by Cameron Mackintosh at number four with £ 635 million. At number eight is Sir Elton John with £185 million.

West Palm Beach's only resident professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, continues its 10th Anniversary season with 'Three Tall Women,' the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama by Edward Albee, on Friday, April 23rd (8PM) at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard). Rehearsals begin today, Monday, April 5 for the World Premiere production of PARADISE FOUND, a new musical under the combined direction of Theater legend and 21-time Tony Award winner Harold Prince (the original productions of Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Company, Follies, Evita) and 5-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (Crazy For You, Show Boat, The Producers, Contact). This is their first collaboration since the landmark, Tony Award-winning revival of Show Boat. Following the New York rehearsal period, the production will open at London's acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory with performances running May 19 through June 26.

Florida Grand Opera will present a free concert at Flamingo Park, Meridian Avenue and 12th Street, on Miami Beach at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 2010. The Opera-In-The-Park concert will feature popular arias, duets and ensembles performed by artists appearing in Florida Grand Opera's final production of the 2009-2010 season, Bizet's Carmen.

This provocative exhibition brings together, for the first time, controversial early paintings made between 1967 and 1975, as well as watercolors and drawings from the period. A catalog including an interview with the artist by Alexi Worth accompanies the exhibition.
