Off Broadway Offers $20 Tickets 20 Minutes Before Showtime

For two weeks only, Off-Broadway will offer tickets for only $20 twenty minutes before show time. '20at20' is now a bi-annual celebration of NY's best shows, in the tradition of Restaurant Week!
Beginning Monday, January 26th and continuing through Sunday, February 8th, Off-Broadway shows* will offer seats still available twenty minutes before the curtain, for only $20 when purchased at the box office for over twenty shows (cash only at some venues; some restrictions may apply). ARISTOCRATS Opens At The Irish Repertory Theater 1/25

The Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) will begin previews of Aristocrats by Brian Friel on Friday, January 16, 2009. The production will open on Sunday, January 25, 2009 and is scheduled to close March 8, 2009. Charlotte Moore directs.

South Coast Repertory starts off the New Year with the World Premiere of You, Nero, a comedy by Pulitzer Prize finalist Amy Freed. Commissioned by SCR, You, Nero imagines a meeting during the declining years of the Roman Empire between Scribonius, a put-upon playwright, and Emperor Nero, the all-powerful, narcissistic arbiter of art. The Roman romp stars Danny Scheie as Nero and John Vickery as Scribonius. Produced in association with Berkeley Repertory Theatre and directed by Sharon Ott,You, Nero will run from Jan. 4 through Jan. 25, 2009 on the Julianne Argyros Stage. Low-priced previews are available from Jan. 4 through Jan. 8. Opening night is Jan. 9.
