Miami's newest live stage performance attraction is welcoming all comedians.

Almost six years since its first outing at the Tabernacle, Letters Live last night put on its biggest show yet: in the grandiose and historic setting of the Royal Albert Hall. As well as celebrating the joy and emotion of the written word, with the help of a stunning array of talent, the shows also seek to support charitable causes - this time it was the turn of the National Literacy Trust. Over the course of three hours, the audience was treated to a wide-ranging selection of correspondence, including everything from noisy neighbours and Albert Hall shenanigans, to a prolifically flatulent dog.

The Houston Symphony's Lunada¸ presented by the Mexican Institute of Greater Houston, celebrates a night under the moon with music at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 19 at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Concertgoers will enjoy an evening of music in a free and relaxed outdoor setting appropriate for the entire family.

Live @ Peck Pavilion returns to the Marcus Performing Arts Center grounds this summer. Following an extensive search spanning more than three years, the Houston Symphony and Music Director Andres Orozco-Estrada announce the appointment of Yoonshin Song as its concertmaster and holder of the Max Levine Chair beginning in the 2019?2020 Season. She succeeds Frank Huang in this position, who left the Houston Symphony at the end of the 2015?2016 Season to take an equivalent position with the New York Philharmonic.

It's a bit embarrassing to admit that a life-long theatre junkie like me had never seen OUR TOWN until last Saturday night. I have read it and loved it of course; I am familiar with the plot, characters, etc, but had never actually experienced this American treasure and I am so glad and grateful I got to see this production. Austin Theatre lovers have a special affinity for The City Theatre I think because it's a 'neighborhood' theatre. Andy Berkovsky and company treat you like family and instead of dropping in for coffee, we drop in for some quality art time.

Meet Miss Baker has begun, with previews of The Price of Thomas Scott, directed by Mint Theater Artistic Director Jonathan Bank. Performances began January 24th and continue through March 23rd at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Opening Night is set for February 20th.

'19: The Musical' is the brainchild of Through the 4th Wall co-founders, Jennifer Schwed and Doug Bradshaw. Both DC natives, Schwed and Bradshaw conceived the idea of a musical about the passage of the 19th Amendment back in 2016, and have been overseeing workshops and concert performances for a little over a year, with an eye toward a full production in time for the Amendment's centennial in 2020.

Mint announced "Meet Miss Baker," Mint's latest effort in its ongoing commitment to create new life for neglected women playwrights. From Pulitzer-Prize winning plays by Zona Gale and Susan Glaspell, to forgotten works by Rachel Crothers, Cicely Hamilton, Githa Sowerby, Hazel Ellis, Maurine Dallas Watkins, Lillian Hellman, Rose Franken and Dawn Powell, Mint has long been a champion of neglected plays by women. Up next is English playwright Elizabeth Baker, who will receive three productions, each getting their American premiere, over the next two years.

One of the fist modern instances of 'breaking the fourth wall,' Thornton Wilder's OUR TOWN is a story addressed directly to an audience - by the production's Stage Manager, the narrator and an occasional player in the story. It's a tale of the life of the fictional Grover's Corners, New Hampshire from 1901 through 1913, seen through the eyes of two neighboring families and the Stage Manager's decription of the locale.
