Raleigh Little Theatre (RLT) today announced its 2013-2014 season, which will include two area premieres, revive the popular City Series of contemporary theatre, and celebrate 30 years of a holiday classic in Cinderella.

Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts welcomes regional arts and cultural organizations participating in Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts 2013 (PIFA) returning to Philadelphia today, March 28 to April 27.

Chicago Opera Theater's Chicago Stage Premiere production of Astor Piazzolla's MARÍA DE BUENOS AIRES evokes Argentina's 'Dirty War', the period between 1976 and 1983 when the country was governed by military juntas which controlled the populace through state-sponsored terrorism. This 'tango operita' is of stunning originality, pulsing to the passion and beat of Astor Piazzolla's revolutionary 'nuevo tango' and Horacio Ferrer's mesmerizing, imaginative poetry. Chicago Opera Theater's production is a collaboration with Chicago's Luna Negra Dance Theater at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive, and runs for four performances only: Saturday, April 20; Wednesday, April 24; Friday, April 26; and Sunday, April 28.

Shizuo Z. Kuwahara conducts Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. This fairytale favorite will be illuminated through performances by beloved narrator Rheda Becker and Bob Brown Puppets. Children age five and up are welcome to attend. Jersey City Nutcracker tells the story of two children's urban holiday adventure leading them through fantasy, adversity and celebration and teaching them lessons about friendship and community along the way. Choreographed and directed by Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott, this adaption of Tchaikovsky's holiday classic is performed by a stand-out cast of professional dancers from Nimbus Dance Works joined by youth and adults from the community as they portray familiar characters such as the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Rat King, the Arabian Princess and Drosselmeyer - all with a Jersey City twist! Amidst colorful sets, costumes, a brightly adorned tree, youth and adults alike are touched by this tale of Christmas spirit.

The LA Times reports that Kristin Chenoweth is set to appear November 5 at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa. The Tony-winning actress will follow that performance with concerts in Sacramento on November 7 and Fresno on November 9.
