The Old Vic has today announced casting for David Greig's adaptation of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax, directed by Max Webster. Simon Lipkin will play the role of the Lorax, alongside puppeteers Laura Cubitt and Ben Thompson, whilst Simon Paisley Day takes the role of the Once-ler.

Actors Forum Theatre and Magic Tree Productions present Brandon Scott's Wizards and Fools: The Hallows' Fool Moon Magic Show produced by Audrey M. Singer and Brandon Scott.  The show is centered around a quirky family preparing for a Hallows' Eve and night of the Fools Moon, a very special night as it happens only once every 100 years.  

Houston Grand Opera (HGO) will present the world premiere of O Columbia, a chamber opera created by an acclaimed team of artists: composer Gregory Spears, librettist Royce Vavrek, stage director Kevin Newbury, and conductor Timothy Myers-tonight and tomorrow, September 23 and 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the Bayou Music Center.

The Old Globe opens its 2015-2016 Season with IN YOUR ARMS, a World Premiere dance-theatre musical featuring direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, Lincoln Center Theater's The King and I and South Pacific) and original music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once on This Island; two-time Oscar nominee for Anastasia). The production begins tonight, September 16, with an opening slated for September 24, and runs through October 25, 2015.

The Huntington Theatre Company opens its 2015-2016 season with the Tony Award-winning musical A Little Night Music, Stephen Sondheim's most romantic and popular work, led by Tony and Olivier nominee Haydn Gwynne, as well as Broadway's Stephen Bogardus and Lauren Molina. Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois (after all the terrible things I do; Smart People; Rapture, Blister, Burn; and Becky Shaw) will direct. Performances will run tonight, September 11, through October 11, 2015 at the Avenue of the Arts / BU Theatre.

Theatre Nova is teaming up with Spinning Dot Theatre to present a series of three family shows, to be presented at Theatre Nova's space at the Yellow Barn. The first of these will be THE CAT WHO RAN, Naoko Kudo and Toyoko Nishida's adaptation of a Japanese folktale about the unlikely friendship and adventures of a cat and a fish. Director Jenny Anne Koppera's production combines puppetry, movement, and music to bring the story to life. THE CAT WHO RAN will be at Theatre Nova on August 22, 2015 at 11am. Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera will play at the PTC Performing Space (555 West 42nd St.) from tonight, July 9, through July 16, 2015.
