Theater Latte Da announced today a dynamic season of four productions that feature the wickedly funny musical comedy The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at the Ordway Center's McKnight Theatre (October 6-30, 2011), the new holiday classic All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 at the Pantages Theatre (December 15-18, 2011), the regional premiere of Beautiful Thing at The Lab Theater (February 24 - March 18, 2012), and the passionate rock musical Spring Awakening produced in partnership with the University of Minnesota at the Rarig Center's Stoll Thrust Theatre (April 12 - May 6, 2012).

Cornish College of the Arts will welcome the college's new president, Dr. Nancy J. Uscher, with three days of celebratory events: the presidential inauguration on Friday, October 14; the Inaugural Colloquium, a day of hands on exploration, presentation and conversation with some of the foremost leaders in the arts on Saturday, October 15; and Cornish's annual fundraising gala, Sunday, October 16.

New York Philharmonic Wins 2011 ASCAP Award

The New York Philharmonic is to be honored today with a 2010.11 ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, winning first place in the Awards for Programming of Contemporary Music, at the Annual Meeting Breakfast at the League of American Orchestras?f National Conference in Minneapolis. The Orchestra will be presented with a plaque and $3,000 in recognition of its commitment to new music programming during the past season. This is the second consecutive year that the Philharmonic has received this award.
