Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) will present the world premiere of MR. & MRS. FITCH, a new comedy from Douglas Carter Beane (The Little Dog Laughed, Xanadu) starring Tony Award winners John Lithgow and Jennifer Ehle.

Second Stage Theatre has announced that Tony Award winners John Lithgow and Jennifer Ehle will star as MR. & MRS. FITCH in the world premiere comedy from Douglas Carter Beane. The production marks Mr. Beane's return to Second Stage Theatre where his critically acclaimed, Tony-nominated play The Little Dog Laughed premiered in 2005. MR. & MRS. FITCH will be directed by Scott Ellis, who also staged the world premiere and Broadway transfer of The Little Dog Laughed. Previews begin at Second Stage Theatre on January 26, 2010; opening night is scheduled for Thursday, February 22.

Stage and screen star Helen Mirren has joined the cast of the upcoming thriller 'Red', Variety reports. Already announced for the cast are Morgan Freeman and Bruce Willis. Produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Gregory Noveck, and Mark Vahradian, 'Red' is written by Erich and Joe Hoeber and directed by Robert Schwentke. Shooting is set to begin January 2010 with an expected release date of November 19th, 2010.

Beginning its 30th year of broadcast, the American Theatre Wing's 'Working in the Theatre' program will feature 'Actors Words, Writers Voice' on CUNY TV on Sunday, November 2 at 5 p.m. The program will repeat on Friday, November 7 at 9 a.m., 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, November 8 at 11 a.m. The program becomes available as streaming video and podcast from www.americantheatrewing.org, as well as iTunes, beginning Wednesday afternoon, November 5.
