In addition, a wide variety of free and ticketed concert events will be presented from May 28th through July 16th at venues throughout the region.

A series of tweets on the parody account @TheTweetofGod landed American comedy writer David Javerbaum a book deal. Eventually that book, The Last Testament: A Memoir By God, was adapted for the stage and renamed as An Act of God. The stage version premiered at Broadway's Studio 54 Theatre in 2015 with Big Bang Theory sitcom star Jim Parsons in the leading role. A second run featured Will & Grace's Sean Hayes in the leading role, and now the B Street Theatre will give the holy role to Nick Cearley (Buyer & Cellar).

The Public Theater announced today that three final performances have been added to the critically acclaimed New York premiere of Latin History for Morons, created and performed by John Leguizamo. Directed by Tony Taccone, this fiercely funny, satirical one-man show was inspired by Leguizamo's observation that Latinos are essentially invisible in the standard American history curriculum.

???????Full cast is announced today for the upcoming premiere of Nicholas De Jongh's new play Pricked Out. Matthew Gould directs Sebastian Carrington-Howell (Seb), Chris Clynes (Will), Sean Delaney (Barnfield), Daniel Donskoy (Harry), Felicity Jolly (Viola), Peter Land (Mal), Paul Lavers (Sir Vane) and Rebecca Tanwen (Olive) in the production without decor which runs at the Kings Head Theatre from 25-29 March.

In addition to its New York appearance this spring and its regular concert series in Boston, Christophers and the Handel and Haydn Society also return this summer to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the Berkshires, for the first time since 1991. Rehearsals began this week for the revival of John Guare's critically acclaimed play Six Degrees of Separation starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train) as Ouisa, Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') as Flan and Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy') as Paul. Directed by Trip Cullman (Significant Other, Yen), Six Degrees of Separation will begin previews Wednesday, April 5 prior to the official opening on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Barrymore Theatre. The production will play a 15-week run through Sunday, July 16.

Michael Kahn will retire as artistic director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) in July 2019. A national search for Mr. Kahn's successor will begin in 2017. His successor will be announced in July 2018 and will work closely with Michael to plan the 2019/20 season.
