Commonwealth Shakespeare Company announced the cast and creative team for its 30th anniversary production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, directed by Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler at the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common.

Production shots have been released for Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves the World, which is currently playing its world premiere performances at Birmingham Rep until Sat 11 Mar 2023.

The Orange Tree Theatre today announces the full cast for Pierre Marivaux's The False Servant, translated by Martin Crimp, whose prolific international career began at the Orange Tree Theatre, including the recent hit revival of Dealing with Clair. Before his final season as Artistic Director of the OT, Paul Miller, directs Uzair Bhatti, Will Brown, Julian Moore-Cook, Phoebe Pryce, Lizzy Watts and Silas Wyatt-Barke.

On May 13, the Metropolitan Opera will present the company premiere of Australian composer Brett Dean’s Hamlet, a bold adaptation of Shakespeare’s timeless drama, with six additional performances through June 9.

Artistic Director Paul Hart, Executive Director Claire Murray and the team at Newbury’s The Watermill Theatre have announced details of the shows that will play at the theatre from May 2022, all the way through until Christmas.

CSC will host a one-night-only benefit staged reading of Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare, directed by Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler. Having planned a full, pre-pandemic-scale season for 2021-22, Kent Tritle, who is Director of Cathedral Music and Organist at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Music Director of both the Oratorio Society of New York and Musica Sacra, and Director of Choral Activities at the Manhattan School of Music, led or performed in a dozen concerts in the season’s first half, with only one event being canceled.

Kent’s spring concert schedule has undergone a few shuffles, but is going ahead largely as planned, featuring Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Oratorio Society of New York and soloists Susanna Phillips, Lucia Bradford, Isaiah Bell, and Justin Austin at Carnegie Hall (May 9) and more.

The 2021 Theatre Aspen summer season lineup has been announced. The 38th season, running from June 30 – August 31, will include two musicals, Chicago and Rock of Ages, the return of the organization’s developmental one-person show festival, Solo Flights, and multiple special events, as well as three Theatre Aspen Education productions.

Over 100 UK performers have come together to remotely record 'The Bells of Notre Dame' from Disney's animated film 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'. The project has been produced by Wicked actress Rebecca Gilliland, who founded Bookend Productions, to give artists a chance to perform after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down theatres across the world.

The group, which includes a mixture of West End performers, (Les Miserables, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Book of Mormon, Bat out of Hell and more) performers from across the UK and new performing arts graduates, recorded their parts for the song from their homes to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Door Shakespeare has announced the third offering in 2020's Door Shakespeare Reading Series: Dream Upon Avon, by Wisconsin's own John Kishline, running Friday, December 11 through Sunday, December 13. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:00, and Sunday at 5:00. The Door Shakespeare Reading is free, with donations encouraged. BETSY McBRIDE, SIMON WEXLER, PAOLA HARTLEY, and KAREN SCALZITTI-KENNEDY will be members of the guest faculty for the Shreveport Dance Academy's Summer Intensive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Ms. McBride and Mr. Wexler will be teaching from July 27-31, 2020, and Ms.  Hartley and Ms. Scalzitti-Kennedy will be teaching from August 3-7, 2020.

Seattle Shakespeare Company's free Wooden O productions for this summer will be The Comedy of Errors and Othello. Both shows will start performances on July 9 and will perform in park venues throughout the region through August 9. (please see attached schedule). Two summer Shakespeare veterans will make their Wooden O directing debuts.  Crystal Dawn Munkers will direct The Comedy of Errors and Reginald André Jackson will direct Othello.
