BWW Review: A CHORUS LINE at Susquehanna Stage Company
by Allison Rambler - Aug 16, 2017

Every so often, a show comes along that strikes a chord in the most difficult audience to please: actors. As people of show business, we as actors find ourselves in a difficult position when going to see a show that is not ours; we are critical, we are hopeful, we are looking to be impressed. Often times, we are pleasantly amused and surprised by other works of theatre, but rarely do we find a show that speaks to us as clearly as A CHORUS LINE. The mere title of the show aims itself directly at actors themselves, and has prided itself on representing the trials and tribulations of show business for several decades. Central PA's most recent incarnation, presented by Susquehanna Stage Company, invokes just the same feelings that inspire each and every actor to push just a little bit harder to reach their goals.

A CHORUS LINE Opens the Arvada Center 42nd Season
by A.A. Cristi - Aug 14, 2017

The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will open its 42nd theatre season with the hit Broadway musical A Chorus Line directed by Rod A. Lansberry, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. A Chorus Line spans one day in the lives of 17 dancers all vying for a coveted spot in the chorus of a Broadway musical. Considered groundbreaking when it opened on Broadway in 1975, the musical went on to win nine Tony Awards and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Today, it remains as touching and powerful as when it debuted and is one of the longest running musicals on Broadway. The 2017 - 2018 Theatre Season is sponsored by Lutheran Medical Center. BWW Review: Dynamic Kay Cole Soars with SOUVENIR
by Don Grigware - Jul 17, 2017

It is great to see an artist of Kay Cole's caliber perform her very first solo cabaret at a later stage of life. This woman has done TV, film, Broadway, national tours; she has directed both musicals and plays, choreographed...and now has released Souvenir, her very first solo CD and achieved a glorious cabaret debut at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal on Sunday July 16. The show also called Souvenir, which ran under an hour, was directed by Cole's long-time friend the wonderful Bruce Kimmel and musically directed by the fabulous John Boswell, who accompanied her on the piano throughout. Kay Cole has a lot to tell about her life and care

BWW Review: A CHORUS LINE CAST IS ONE SINGULAR SENSATION at Eight O' Clock Theatre
by Deborah Bostock-Kelley - Jul 17, 2017

A CHORUS LINE CAST IS ONE SINGULAR SENSATION at Eight O' Clock Theatre. A Chorus Line is not often seen in community theatre because it requires multiple triple-threats - singers, dancers and actors in one talented package. Fortunately, director James Grenelle and assistant director Rocco Morabito found a stage full of them.

BWW Review: MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT at MNM PRODUCTIONS
by John Lariviere - May 22, 2017

MNM Productions presents Monty Python's Spamalot at the Kravis Center of the Performing Arts. Featuring music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, and book and lyrics by Eric Idle, Monty Python's Spamalot is a musical comedy lovingly ripped-off from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The title of the musical comes from a line in the movie which goes: 'we eat ham, and jam, and Spam a lot.' Like the film, written by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin, it is a highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian Legend, but it differs from the film in many ways

BWW Review: 1,600 Words About Why You Should Go See SPAMALOT At Studio Tenn
by Jeffrey Ellis - May 8, 2017

Whether it's seeing Matt Logan as King Arthur galumphing around onstage, as if astride a horse with Garris Wimmer not far behind providing the necessary sound effects with two halves of one empty coconut shell, or watching Jake Speck, as a feckless wannabe Knight of the Round Table, crap his pants anytime he hears a threatening sound or encounters the menacing Black Knight (or anyone else who might say 'boo' to the goose who is Sir Robin), or any other manner of zany characters who find themselves right smack in the middle of the most ridiculous of situations - Monty Python's Spamalot, now in an altogether splendid production from Studio Tenn, will supply you with plenty of laughs and/or the fodder to keep you amusingly sated until the next time you need a good guffaw or two.
